I'm hoping that in WWE2K24 they put a create a brand in the game so you can do a 4 player myGM of Raw vs. Smackdown vs. NXT vs. AEW.

I couldn't get into GM mode, it felt like a restrictive Universe. I like controlling everything and telling my own stories.

GM mode does look good but god they need to get rid of fighter classes in that. The quality of the match shouldn't hinge on them being compatible types that's not realistic.

Also they still desperately need to raise the budget to like 10-20 million and have a minimum roster size of like 16-20.

but..... the classes thing is actually fairly realistic. Typically giants work better throwing little guys around (and little guys fighting from underneath against giants works), and brawler/fighter works too.

And I actually like the size. Having a 20 person roster, and thus a 6 or 7 match card every week would be too much. Take too long to play each week with too much falling through the cracks in terms of feuds, etc.

But according to the mode, giants ONLY work well with cruiserweights, and that's not true. Also like someone pointed out, if you booked a classic feud like New Day vs Usos it would be mid or suck on there because their classes don't match up, that's dumb.

And I'd say regarding roster size they need the option to go bigger. Have the budget adjustable from say 3 mil to 10 mil, and obviously larger budget = larger roster. More customization is always good.

So after seeing this yesterday, I'm sold on 2K23. I'm annoyed rivals still have to face each other every week seemingly and you can't choose cutscenes for non rivalry matches, but this is a total game changer for me being able to choose a pre or post match cutscene. It'll help with storytelling so much in universe and it seems like the beginning signs of story designer coming back. Also it looks like we can choose how long someone goes out injured and do loser leaves town matches, both of those are incredible additions.

Between this, setting AI logic for how they wrestle with each different wrestler, tag finishers being fixed in universe and the other smaller improvements, this has potential to be one of the best wrestling games ever. I still wanna see proof that the game isn't a buggy mess when it comes out, but if it's not I'm picking it up probably by the start of April. Assuming I don't win a giveaway of course.

I was expecting more new moves but some of those look good. I'm glad they fixed the speed animation issue from 2k20
