hopefully. its more for me that "myfaction" looks a LOT like it could be same as nhl/nfl pay 2 win card roster bullshit. basically putting low % gambling in the game and its super predatory

My Faction will 100% be something of the sort, hope they don't go that way with the GM or the MyRise (which I think is just renamed career mode?) since those should be offline modes. Or at least both offline and online for GM Mode

Yeah every sports game does this now lol I've never gotten into any of them either and just end up doing offline modes instead unless they end up being trash bc too much time is spent on the card games instead, and then I just stop buying lol

yeh, i just think this shit should legit be illegal (outside strictly cosmetic upgrades). it basically tries to get kids into gambling earlier or people with low impulse control and its super uncool in video games. i dont want gambling in my video games unless its a casino in an rpg with the in game currecy used

Oh the my faction shit idc about. If it’s like Ultimate Team BS, I wouldn’t touch it. Now if MyGM is online play also, I hope they keep the stuff out. But I mainly be playing with friends anyway if it is, and I couldn’t see them dropping money for it like that

I don't think pay 2 win stuff should be a thing even if you take the gambling aspect out of it either though. In theory, if you have money but don't have the time to grind, I don't really mind people being able to pay real money to speed up that process but the issue is they make the grind SO MUCH WORSE for the people that don't want to pay so others actually do pay

i agree with all of this. ban loot box legislation is something im personally for too, fuck pay to win anything and if that means no more free phone games, then so be it. you are correct that 99% of these grind games make it so ud have to spend years to get one thing and it's not guaranteed. i want to pay for a finished product too, not pay 80+ dollars and then have to sink money into smth for the best shit. "back in my day" we earned our top tier gear

It's bullshit when they do that but I take it as a challenge.

I never paid a dime in Warframe even though they constantly dangled that shit in front of me and how easy it would be just to pay for everything.

I remember one WWE game back in the day that i had for the PS3 had a straight up "unlock everything" purchase option that was fairly cheap lol didn't affect anything online, just gave you all the unlockable legends and arenas without having to work for it. That kinda stuff I'd have no issue with but sadly it can't stop there

the thing is outside cheapo phone games theres never any real reason to add these things to AAA type games whatsoever outside of pure greed. this unlock everything chris mentioned is a fair thing on a solo type of game or for arenas or wtv, especially that its not even that impossible of a grind to unlock normally anyways. i dont even mind the fortnite model since paying gives you literally 0 advantage (though i do still think the prices are absurd and predatory as well)
