Commentary brings in show as a video clip airs showcasing the huge win for "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett. Commentary builds up how last week was a huge jumpstart to the new WCW and how so much controversy has already been laid to waste in the professional wrestling world. Commentary moves on to build up the huge US Title Tournament and the return of Bam Bam Bigelow, as well as the grudge tag team match between The Gangstas and The Harris Brothers tonight. However, the segment is cut short quickly when "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett's music is blasted over the PA.

The new WCW World Heavyweight Champion "Double J" Jeff Jarrett makes his way down to the ring as Schiavone and Tenay build up how Jarrett should not even be champion due to the timely circumstances last Saturday Night, and Heenan sells how he knew all along that "The Chosen One" was going to become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Jarrett begins to cut a promo hyping himself up as the new champion and how a new day has risen for WCW. Jarrett builds up how he beat 3 men all in one night to secure his spot as the champion and how he is without a shout of a doubt the best in this business today. Jarrett continues his promo on by saying that he is requiring every single member in the locker room to address him from now on as Mr. World Champion. Booker T must've heard enough because he quickly comes out and gets face to face with the new world champion, Jeff Jarrett. Booker T starts to cut a promo of his own that last week he should've never been stripped of the title to begin with, but the past is the past. Booker continues on by saying that he is not waiting for his rematch clause, he is demanding his rematch clause here tonight. Jarrett quickly shakes his head no and backs up, building up how tonight is a night of celebration and tonight is a night to honor the new World Champion. Booker tells Jarrett that he is not leaving this ring until he gets his rematch tonight. As Jarrett and Booker T remain face to face, new WCW Commissioner Larry Zbyszko comes out with a microphone in his hand. After Zbyszko's short spleel introducing himself as the new WCW Commissioner, he immediately gets to the business at hand. He starts off by saying that in additional news, he has placed an order on Dallas Page that if he gets within 100 feet of Kimberly or Shane Douglas tonight that he will be arrested on the spot and served a fine from WCW. Zbyszko then switches gears to announce that tonight it will be Jeff Jarrett defending his new world title belt against Booker T in a No Disqualification Match! Jarrett immediately throws down his title and starts screaming at Zbyszko that he is not going to tolerate this and he can't make this match. Zbyszko smiles and tells Jarrett to get ready for his match, as Booker smiles back at Jarrett and mouths "I'm the world champion".

Commercial Break

Mike Awesome w/Sean O'Haire and Jim Cornette defeated Billy Kidman w/Rey Meysterio Jr. and Torrie Wilson

The match was pretty evenly matched through the entire segment with both men getting their fair share of offense in. The action did not just go down in the inside of the ring, the segment also features a back and forth banter between Jim Cornette and Torrie Wilson outside the ring with O'Haire stepping in front of Cornette once Meysterio jumped in. Several near falls ensue, but Kidman is unsuccessful in keeping Awesome down. The match is finally decided when Cornette jumps up on the apron to distract Kidman, and is quickly rolled up into a small package by Mike Awesome who gets the pin, only after holding Kidman's tights. After the match, Meysterio quickly rushes in, but Awesome and O'Haire high tail it out of the ring with Jim Cornette and taunt at the crowd with their WCW World Tag Team Championship belts.

Shane Helms is backstage telling Larry Zbyszko that he should've never been stripped of the WCW Cruiserweight Championship to begin with, and now in a fluke, Chavo Guerrero is the man who is the face of all the WCW cruiserweights. Zbyszko obviously aggravated, tells Helms that if he wants to prove his stock in WCW, he can do so by taking on up and coming AJ Styles in the WCW United States Championship tournament.

A vignette airs showing Chavo Guerrero in Mexico walking down the streets withkids running behind him, while he holds his new Cruiserweight Championship belt. As Chavo walks down the streets in fan fare, he talks about how he rose up from the ashes and became the premier act in all of professional wrestling. The segment continues on building up Chavo as a Mexican hero.

Commercial Break

WCW United States Championship Tournament
"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated. "Sugar" Shane Helms

This match definitely was back and forth through out the entire segment. Each man would go for a quick pinfall, but it would quickly be disrupted barely into a two count. With both men having something to prove in this match, it was finally decided when Shane Helms executed a beautifully done rolling DDT off the middle rope, but instead of going for the cover, decided to jump up on the turnbuckle and attempt to hit a shooting star press. The opportunistic Styles quickly rolled up on his feet and performed a beautifully done lionsault off the middle rope landing it viciously on the abdomen of Helms. Styles not wasting any time, quickly made the cover and got the pin. During the end of the match "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning walked out onto the stage and stood there evaluating the match and shaking his head with a smile each time AJ Styles would hit a big move on Helms. Commentary through out the match built Styles up as the "future of WCW" and sold how not only Shane Helms needed to win this match for creditability, but this is a huge win for the up and coming AJ Styles.

The Harris Brothers in the back building up their fight against the Gangstas, wrapping their wrists up with tape while chugging a couple Budweisers. The Harris Brothers build each other up talking about how it's time they show a little respect to the "boys", with the segment really focusing on how grunge-ey the group is and how they love to fight.

The scene switches to show a grave yard with Raven walking up and down the aisles looking at the graves, and his new minion "Luthor" on his knees looking up at Raven in a worshipping manner. Raven begins to cut an eerie promo about many legends have came through this sport and when it was all said and done became nothing but lost souls in the abyss of revisionist history. Raven slowly leans down indian style and picks up pieces of dirt and starts dropping them on the head of Luthor, naming legends who have became nothing but images of their former selves. Raven ends the promo by grabbing Luthor by the hair and screaming into his face DO YOU CONTROL YOUR SOUL?! Luthor maniacally starts shaking his head yes and laughing as Raven continues to demoralize him and slap him in the face.

Commercial Break

Eric Bischoff arrives at the arena with a concerned look on his face having no idea what to do about the Scott Hall situation, as commentary builds up how pivotal this is for Eric Bischoff to exterminate the Scott Hall problem.

AJ Styles is backstage recuperating from his big tournament match, when "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning comes in and introduces himself with his usual smug smile. Styles looks up at Henning and introduces himself as well, but doesn't take much notice of why Henning was out there watching his match. Henning tells Styles that he was very impressed with his match against Helms and that he knows he has a lot of potential to be great in this business, if he has the proper direction. Henning offers his managerial services to Styles, telling him that he has the ability to take him to the moon. Styles slowly stands up and shakes Henning's hand and tells him that he has gotten to where he is today as a solo act and he will have to respectfully decline Henning's offer. Styles walks out of the room as Curt stands there in shock that Styles didn't accept his services.

The scene switches to show "The Franchise" Shane Douglas walking out with the former Kimberly Page. Douglas looks up at the fans with a smug smile on his face beginning his promo by saying that not only will he advance into the finals of the WCW United States Championship Tournament next week, but it's very important that we direct our attention to Diamond Dallas Page. Douglas starts off his vicious smug like promo on Dallas Page by saying that Dallas Page is a mad man, and he would take out Dallas Page any day of the week, but he fears for his beautiful lady Kimberly's safety. Douglas continues on by saying that Dallas Page is a man who cannot be controlled and how it's not Kimberly's fault that she met a better class of man in Shane Douglas. He hands the microphone sympathetically in a sarcastic manner to Kimberly, who goes on to cut a promo of her own that Dallas Page is a monster and how she is scared for her life. KImberly starts "fake" crying as Douglas walks over to her and "comforts her" telling her that Page is just jealous of all the tools that "The Franchise" has. Douglas smiles up at the crowd and starts showing clips of the night that Kimberly first cheated on Dallas Page. The irate Page bursts through the curtain and starts darting towards the ring as Kimberly runs over into the corner and Douglas looks wide eyed at Dallas throwing his arms up. Once Page gets in the ring, Douglas reiterates the previous statement by WCW Commissioner that if Page comes within 100 feet of them he will be arrested. Douglas starts screaming for the police to come down and arrest Page. Page grabs the microphone from Douglas in fury and tells him that he will gladly go to jail just to kick his ass all over this arena tonight, and show him what a real man is. Right then Page goes to clothesline Douglas, but Douglas quickly jumps underneath the clothesline, forcing Dallas to slam his forearm into the head of Kimberly. Douglas slides out of the ring with wide eyes as WCW Commissioner Larry Zbyszko comes storming out through the curtain screaming for the police to arrest Dallas Page. Zbyszko screams at Page that he warned him that if he came out here tonight he would be severely punished. It's not long before the police come running out through the curtain to arrest Dallas Page, while Douglas stands there with a smile on his face laughing at the damage. Kimberly slowly makes it back up to her feet but all Douglas can do is taunt at DDP.

Commercial Break

Lethal Fusion is backstage boosting themselves up as Cornette tells them that they are the greatest tag team in the business today, all three laughing about what they did to The Filthy Animals earlier tonight. The segment ends when the champions put their title belts together and smile as Cornette claps.

The Harris Brothers (Ron Harris / Don Harris) defeated The Gangstas (New Jack / Stevie Ray)
This match turned out to be nothing but just a huge bar room-esque brawl in the middle of the ring. The referee through out the match was barely able to keep any stability or order in the ring, as all 4 men brawled in the ring, outside of the ring, and everywhere else. The match didn't really turn much of a tide until the monster and newcomer Mustafa Saed came running out with a steel chain around his fists, pummeling both members of the Harris Brothers. The referee called for the bell disqualifying The Gangstas, but all three men were relentlessly in beating The Harris Brothers down. The segment finally concluded when Stevie Ray and New Jack threw Don Harris off the stage, crashing down on the concrete, which was quickly followed by the huge Mustafa Saed powerbombing Don's partner Ron off the stage as well. All three men locked arms and taunted at the crowd as commentary built up how tough these guys are and how they need to be stopped.

Bam Bam is shown walking to the ring, as commentary builds up how huge this is for Bam Bam and WCW. Schiavone states that he believes Bam Bam will be the next WCW United States Champion.

Commercial Break

WCW United States Championship Tournament
Bam Bam Bigelow defeated. Big Vito

This match turned out to be nothing short of a simple squash match. The little offense that Big Vito did get in was immediately squashed by the huge big man power moves of the returning Bam Bam Bigelow. The match was decided when Bigelow executed a devastating sit out pile driver on the defenseless Big Vito. Commentary through out the match built up Bam Bam as the biggest threat in the championship tournament.

WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett is shown backstage complaining to Buff Bagwell about how he is being forced to defend his title just 7 days after becoming the new champion, and how Zbyszko doesn't know who he is dealing with. Bagwell regrettably tells Jarrett that Booker T really didn't lose his belt one on one, so this is Jeff's one chance to prove he should be the world champion. Jarrett quickly grows mad and screams at Bagwell to get out of "his" locker room, obviously distraught that he still has to defend his title belt tonight.

Cameras switch over to show Booker T standing backstage with his old tag team partner and friend Stevie Ray. Booker and Stevie Ray start to talk about all the old times they had and how it's crazy how far they have both came. Stevie tells Booker T that he will be pulling for him to bring the belt back home to "the brothas". Fellow Gangstas member New Jack walks in the room briskly with his old friend Mustafa Saed. As Jack notices Booker T in the room as well, he quickly stops in his tracks and looks upset that Stevie Ray and Booker T are talking. Jack looks over at Stevie Ray and asks who Booker T is, without taking his wide eyes off Booker. Stevie explains to Jack "he's a good dude", when Jack gets in Booker's face and says he doesn't like or tolerate "uncle toms" like Booker T hanging out, trying to hold "the real black man" down. The equally intense Booker T refuses to step down and a verbal confrontation ensues. Jack's old tag team partner Mustafa quickly steps in front of New Jack and gets face to face with Booker T, telling him that he needs to back up. Booker leaves the room as New Jack looks disgusted at Stevie Ray, before Jack tells Mustafa that it's time that the Gangstas get serious.

Commercial Break

Cameras back on to show Jeremy Borash backstage with "The Beast From The East" Bam Bam Bigelow. Borash asks Bigelow how he feels going into his return match as a contestant in the United States Championship tournament, against another big man Big Vito. Bigelow cuts a promo that it took him a long time to get back in WCW and how nothing is going to stop him, because he will run every single guy in this locker room over.

Scott Hall comes out through crowd and gets in ring as security comes running down to the ring. Hall grabs a microphone and begins to cut a promo on the state of WCW and how he told Eric last week that he wasn't going to come alone. Kevin Nash is then shown coming through the crowd, hopping the guard rail and getting in the ring. Security makes their way into the ring and goes to arrest Nash and Hall, when Eric Bischoff comes storming out through the curtain. Kevin Nash tells Eric that all they want are their jobs back in WCW. Bischoff gets in the ring and tells security to step back as he cuts a promo on Nash and Hall about how they are finished in WCW, and how as long as he is running WCW, they will never step foot back in a WCW ring again. Nash and Hall both plead with Bischoff to give them their jobs back, telling him that if he gives them their jobs back, nothing else has to happen. Bischoff finally looks at the both of them with a smile on his face and screams "YOU'RE FIRED!!" and instructs security to escort the both of them out of the arena once again. Security escorts both Hall and Nash out of the ring as Hall and Nash turn around and do the Wolfpac sign with smiles on their faces.

Commercial Break

Cameras come back on to show "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner in the middle of the ring. Steiner goes on to cut a scathing promo about how last week Terry Funk got involved in his business, which is why he had to get involved with Terry Funk. Steiner goes on about how he should've been the new World Heavyweight Champion, but it was Terry Funk who robbed him of that. Steiner starts shooting on Terry Funk about his career and how he is nothing but a washed up old man who couldn't keep up, which is why Steiner had to give Mrs. Funk a visit last week and comfort her during her trying time of seeing her husband beaten to an inch of his life. Steiner calls out Terry Funk, screaming into the microphone that if Terry Funk has any guts and if he is "the hardcore legend" he would come out here and prove to everyone just how tough he is. Steiner continues his promo, mimicking how Terry Funk looked last Saturday Night when he was getting choked out. The promo continues until Disco Inferno comes out and furiously gets in the face of Scott Steiner. Inferno tells Steiner about how Funk is a living legend and one of the only men in this sport he has ever looked up to. Inferno leans in and tells Steiner that he is not going to let anybody, especially "Big Poppa Chump" rob THAT from "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk. Steiner smiles at Inferno and tells him with a gleam in his eye that he is going to do what needs to be done, before he punches Inferno in the face, knocking Inferno down to the mat. Steiner continues his vicious assault on Inferno, rubbing Inferno's face in the mat and screaming "THIS IS FOR YOU FUNK!". The segment ends when Scott Steiner ends his assault on Inferno, jumps back up onto his feet and screams into the the camera, "This one is for you Funker! You mess with my business, I mess with yours! You try to come back in this company and interfere in my business, rest assured, I will cripple your ass!" As Steiner jumps out of the ring and taunts at the crowd, commentary continues to sell how low Steiner has stooped to and how Steiner is a piece of garbage with no respect. Commentary ends it by selling the damage that Steiner has done both to Inferno tonight and Funk last week.

The scene switches to show challenger Booker T standing alongside Gorgeous George. George asks Booker T how he feels about his chances going into tonight's title rematch when he was actually the first one eliminated last week on WCW Saturday Night. Booker T cuts an intense promo that what happened last week, last month, last year does not matter and that all that matters is that tonight Jeff Jarrett will have his shortest title reign of his career. Booker T vows to become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and that no matter what Jarrett does, he will always be one step ahead of him.

Commercial Break

WCW World Heavyweight Championship
No Disqualification Match
Jeff Jarrett © defeated Booker T

This match started out as a typical wrestling match, but quickly turned into an all out brawl as both men tried to gain the upper hand on the other. With the NO DQ stipulation, Jarrett was the first one to utilize a steel chair in the mix, hitting Booker several times over the back with the steel chair. However, it didn't take long for Booker to bring in his fair share of weapon use, at one point using the steel steps to suplex Jarrett back first on the unforgiving steel steps. Each time that Jarrett would go for a pin, Booker would seemlessly kick out at the count of two, as commentary built up how Booker T will just not stay down. At one point during the match the referee was bumped into the corner, allowing Booker not to get a cover on Jarrett.

Booker T hit a devastating Book End, but when he went for the cover, he was unable to revive the referee.

Booker jumps back up to his feet and tries shaking the referee, when all of a sudden, New Jack and Mustafa Saed are shown walking down the ramp towards the ring. Mustafa and New Jack both armed with steel chains around their hands, jump into the ring and immediately jump for Booker T knocking him senseless onto the mat. Mustafa and New Jack obviously still upset from the earlier engagement, spits on Booker T as Jarrett stretches himself over to Booker T and makes the cover.

The referee revived at this point goes to make the count and allows Jarrett to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

After the match is over both Mustafa and New Jack stand above Booker's body in anger, with New Jack screaming in Booker's ear that he needs to learn his place, and Jarrett quickly high tailing it out of the ring with his title belt. Former tag team partner and Gangstas member Stevie Ray quickly runs down the ramp and jumps in the ring, trying to stop Jack and Mustafa from the vicious assault on Booker. Jack gets face to face with Stevie Ray and tells him to back up and let nature run it's course. Stevie Ray eventually backs up with his head down looking on as Jack and Mustafa continue to destroy the beaten down Booker T. As the brawl ends, Jack and Mustafa lock arms and Stevie Ray stands there distraught shaking his head in shame of the vicious attack.

PWTorch Exclusive (05/20/2001) :

- WCW is reportedly very upset at WCW talent Rob Van Dam for his match on Saturday night. Even though, Dusty Rhodes and some other officials were impressed with the match, WCW Executive Producer Eric Bischoff and other higher ups are reportedly upset at Van Dam for going over the match limit. WCW has a rule of thumb that each dark match has a limit of 10 minutes, and Van Dam ended up going 5 minutes over the limit with Jamie Noble. Van Dam is being solely blamed for this because of his public mistrust of WCW and Eric Bischoff's use of him. Van Dam is upset that he is even in the Power Plant and this may be his way of showing that he is ready for primetime, however Bischoff as we know, still does not see him as a huge draw for WCW.

- Former ECW owner Todd Gordon is reportedly trying to build up an ECW brand once again, and is supposedly in talks with several former ECW talent about reviving the company. Our sources have told us that Paul Heyman most likely will not be affiliated with this new promotion, but with the frustration of Rob Van Dam this may be his chance to become a star once again.

- Former WCW talent Ric Flair has supposedly signed a 1 year contract with the WWF. A few months ago, Flair had aired out his frustration with WCW and refused to continue working with the company. With Flair now in the WWF, we can only wonder how long Mcmahon and the WWF will want to use the 16 time World Heavyweight Champion. There is still no word on a Goldberg signing in the WWF, which was a huge possibility just a little while ago.

- Arn Anderson has reportedly signed a long term deal with WCW to work as a road agent once again. Anderson previously held the same role in WCW before the rebirth, but is now officially back within the company.

PWTorch Exclusive (05/23/2001) :

- Even though WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero is being built up as a Mexican hero, our sources are reportedly telling us that last night Guerrero was involved in a physical altercation with a hotel employee in Mexico City, during the wee hours of the morning. Guerrero reportedly had gone out drinking with some of his old friends when police was supposedly called to the hotel to assess a disturbance call made by hotel employee staff. WCW is not directly addressing this issue, but it is being said that the next morning Guerrero had posted bail almost immediately with the help of an undisclosed WCW employee. With a court date most likely in the near future, Guerrero's image could very well be tarnished as this "Mexican Hero" after this alleged incident.

- We are being told by our sources in WCW that the incident with Diamond Dallas Page "accidentally" assaulting his ex wife Kimberly was very real. WCW is offering their apologies for the incident and have stated that Page was arrested by Macon police and WCW has issued a huge undisclosed fine to Page. This very well could be WCW trying to play up the real storyline between the three, but the fact that Shane Douglas fed into this incident only leads us to believe that it is actually a work. However, it is still very entertaining to see what actually plays out.

- The second episode of WCW Saturday Night initially brought in a pretty flat 2.0 rating, but that was reaccessed into a 2.07 television rating. WCW is very pleased with their television ratings so far, and it shows that interest in this company is still very much there.

- Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were "fired" last week on WCW Saturday Night, but many sources have told us that they are indeed on individualized and provisional contracts with WCW. WCW Executive Producer Eric Bischoff released a statement that they are not on contracts, but WCW can only do so much in stopping them from actually showing up at the shows.

PWTorch Exclusive (05/24/2001) :

- WCW talent Rob Van Dam who was upset about his spot in the WCW spectrum, met with Power Plant trainer Lance Storm. Storm along with all the others in the WCW Power Plant have mentioned to WCW executives that Van Dam is ready for a call up to the main roster. Van Dam issued a statement to us during TorchTalk that he feels very disrespected in WCW currently and that is why he went over the dark match time limit and will do everything to stick it to them and show them that he is the best guy on their entire roster.

Commentary brings in the show building up how tonight is "Jarrett Appreciation Night" and Booker T was screwed out of the World Heavyweight Championship last week.

CAN YOU DIG IT SUCKA! IS BLARED THROUGH OUT THE ARENA INTERRUPTING COMMENTARY

Booker T comes storming out to the ring with a furious look on his face. Booker cuts a promo on "The Gangstas" and how last week he had his title back in his grasps, but The Gangstas screwed him over, and because of that he is calling them out to show the wrestling world who has stroke in this industry. New Jack and Mustafa quickly answer the challenge and come out to the ring, getting face to face with Booker T, but Gangstas member Stevie Ray is absent. New Jack disrespects Booker T by calling him another token black guy for the "the white man". A brawl quickly ensues between Booker T and Jack/Mustafa. Stevie Ray quickly runs down to the ring and tries pulling them apart once again, but is abruptly met with a devastating clothesline by Mustafa Saed. Stevie Ray falls down to the mat, as Booker T fends off Mustafa and New Jack and tends to his old tag team partner Stevie Ray.

The scene switches over to show the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett arriving at the arena while commentary builds up "Jarrett Appreciation Night" and Jarrett sells himself up as he walks with his title belt.

The scene switches over to show the clip of Jeff Jarrett winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time, building up Jarrett Appreciation Night. A graphic is shown at the end of the clip that says "Thank You Mr. World Heavyweight Champion"

::Opening Match::
Rey Meysterio Jr. w/Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson def. Sean O'Haire w/Mike Awesome and Jim Cornette

The match turned out to be a surprisingly even match throughout. The biggest near fall was when Sean O'Haire hit a devastating power bomb onto Meysterio, but just as O'Haire went for the cover, Torrie Wilson got on the apron and distracted the referee with her "womanly ways". Jim Cornette furiously ran over to Torrie Wilson to yank her down, but before he could get over to Wilson, Meysterio came up from behind O'Haire and hit a diving cross body into the corner. Meysterio quickly rolled up O'Haire and got the quick pin.

After the match Mike Awesome and Jim Cornette quickly rush into the ring as Meysterio rolls out of the ring and hypes up the crowd with Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson.

WCW Executive Producer Eric Bischoff is backstage in an interview with Jeremy Borash. Borash asks Bischoff if he thinks that he has finally fended off Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Bischoff cuts a promo that Hall and Nash have been exiled out of WCW and will never return. Bischoff promises the fans that they have seen the last of Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, and if anyone tries to question his stance again, they will soon see the same fate as Nash and Hall.

A promo video is shown that history will be made soon when an icon makes his return to World Championship Wrestling.

Commercial Break

"Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner comes out to the ring and cuts a vicious heel like promo on Terry Funk. Steiner tells Funk that he went to sleep last week and he hasn't been able to sleep knowing that Terry Funk did not come out to the ring and "like the bitch he is" congratulate Scott Steiner for successfully ending the career of Terry Funk. Steiner continues on by making fun of Terry Funk and calling him out to kiss the feet of "Big Poppa Pump". Steiner continues on by saying that Disco Inferno found out last week why you don't mess with Scott Steiner, and if anyone has any guts to try to defend "the sorry piece of sh** known as The Hardcore Legend, you can come into this ring like the man that Terry Funk isn't and face me". Mike Tenay stands up from his commentary booth and says that he has heard enough. Tenay walks down to the ring and gets face to face with Steiner and tells him that he needs to go back to the back before Terry Funk comes back and sends him back down to the mid card. Steiner laughs and viciously slaps Tenay in the face and locks on the Steiner Recliner on the defenseless "Professor". Security comes down to save Tenay as Steiner gets up and spits on the laid out body of Mike Tenay and screams into the camera that he could've stopped all of this.

Tony Schiavone sells how disrespectful Scott Steiner is and brings up that he had met with wrestling legend Terry Funk who is currently at his home in Texas, still very distraught and is still suffering from several injuries. The scene switches over to show Tony Schiavone sitting next to the bed ridden Terry Funk. Schiavone in the interview asks many questions about the incident with Scott Steiner, where the very upset and broken down Terry Funk talks about how he had went to see the doctors and they had told him that he is never going to be able to wrestle again and how it's finally time for him to retire. Schiavone builds up the legacy that Terry Funk has left behind, but Funk not wanting to show that it is getting to him started trying to get out of the bed, screaming that he hates Scott Steiner and how he is going to kill Scott Steiner. Funk's wife immediately tries to calm down the teary eyed Terry Funk as Schiavone cuts the interview short and builds up sympathy for Terry Funk and his condition. The scene switches back over to show Tony Schiavone at commentary who explains that Terry Funk has suffered several career ending injuries, and Funk's hip has been dislocated in 4 different places, along with many other injuries.

Scott Steiner is shown backstage boastfully walking to the locker room. The irate and furious WCW Commissioner Larry Zbyszko runs up to Steiner screaming at him about what he did to Mike Tenay. Steiner laughs and doesn't seem to care telling the commissioner that Terry Funk brought this on himself and all the rest of the guys in WCW who want to "stand up for him". Zbyszko screams at Steiner that now Mike Tenay is being carted off to the hospital and he wants Steiner to leave the building right now, and he will figure out what to do with him. Steiner gets face to face with Zbyszko and tells him that if he has something to do, he can do it right now. Zbyszko goes to swing at Steiner, but officials run over to Zbyszko to hold him back. While Zbyszko continues to scream at Steiner, Scott taunts at him and screams back that Funk brought this on everyone.

Chavo Guerrero defeated. 2 Cold Scorpio

This match turned out to be an emotional bout with lots of near falls. Each time that 2 Cold Scorpio would slowly gain an upper hand and look as if he is going to become the new Cruiserweight Champion, Chavo would kick out at the count of two. Momentum quickly switched over decisively when Chavo Guerrero was able to hit a snap suplex off the middle rope quickly followed by a huge diving elbow from the top turnbuckle. WCW United States Championship Tournament Semi Finals
Bam Bam Bigelow defeated. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Loads of anticipation had been built for this match as Bam Bam Bigelow came in last week destroying Big Vito in a decisive fashion, and the up and coming AJ Styles stole one of the biggest upsets in company history by defeating the former Cruiserweight Champion, Shane Helms. But this match turned out to be dead even all the way until the very end of the match. Bigelow through out the match used his power and strength to over power Styles, but was unable to pick up any pinfall on AJ Styles, as Styles kept desperately kicking out at the count of two. The match looked to be over when AJ Styles reversed a standing vertical suplex into a rolling DDT of his own. Styles looked down at Bigelow and then looked up at the turnbuckle, climbing up on the top turnbuckle instead of going for the quick and most likely decisive pinfall. As Styles went to execute a shooting star press, Bigelow quickly rolled out of the way, forcing Styles to fall face first into the mat. Bigelow went for the cover and got the pinfall.

After the match, Styles looking distraught laid his head down in shame while commentary built his effort as admirable and very impressive. Mr. Perfect Curt Henning comes walking to the ring with a smug smile on his face and gets in the ring to focus his attention back on AJ Styles. As AJ looks up at Henning, Henning holds his hand out to Styles. Styles shakes Henning's hand and walks back up the ramp with him.

The clip shows yet another Jeff Jarrett memorable moment. This time it was when he became the WCW Commissioner. A graphic is shown at the end of the clip that says "Thank You Mr. World Heavyweight Champion"

"The Franchise" was able to get a quick advantage at the beginning, but Raven showed he was just as viable of a contender when he reversed a piledriver from Douglas into a figure four leg lock of his own. But just as he pulled on Shane's leg, Kimberly screamed for Douglas to break free. Douglas was eventually able to get to the ropes with the assistance of Kimberly, but Raven was visibly upset and Luthor came running over to Kimberly to get her to run away from Douglas. The irate Raven quickly jumped out of the lock and started screaming at the referee. Douglas slowly made it up to his feet and attempted to hit a german suplex, but it was quickly reversed as well, into a monstrous rolling DDT from Raven. Raven quickly went for the pin but noticed that the referee had been knocked out temporarily from the rolling DDT from Raven. Raven jumped back up to revive the referee. While the referee is still on the ground, Luthor jumps in the ring and starts screaming for Douglas to get back up. As Douglas slowly makes it back up this feet, Luthor runs at Douglas to hit a big boot, but accidentally misses Shane's head, and instead knocks Raven to the other side of the ring. Douglas grabs Luthor by the head and throws him out of the ring, quickly making the cover on Raven. 1...2....3! Douglas wins!

Kimberly quickly rolls Douglas out of the ring and celebrates with him as they both walk up the ramp, Douglas clearly still very shaken physically from his brutal match with Raven. Shane gets to the top of the ramp and smiles at the fans posing, when all of a sudden, Diamond Dallas Page runs out onto the stage and delivers a Diamond Cutter to "The Franchise" Shane Douglas on the stage! Page picks up Douglas and throws him violently through the steel barricade as Kimberly runs away and screams for Douglas to get up in fear. Page stands over the laid out body of Douglas and riles up the fans with his signature self high five before he screams in Shane's face that he wants him in a match. WCW Commissioner Larry Zbyszko comes running out onto the stage and screams at Dallas Page that he warned him and that this cannot continue. Zbyszko screams that Page is suspended while commentary sells just how personal this has gotten between Shane Douglas and Diamond Dallas Page. Page looks down and then looks up with a smile on his face, abruptly grabbing the microphone from Zbyszko and whispering into the microphone that he is not leaving and he wants Douglas. As Zbyszko goes to walk away shaking his head no, Page grabs his arm and delivers a devastating Diamond Cutter on him!

The scene switches to show Jeff Jarrett recently winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and celebrating with his new world title. A graphic is shown at the end of the clip that says "Thank You Mr. World Heavyweight Champion"

A podium is set up in the middle of the ring with various balloons and a huge banner that says "Thank You Chosen One, Jeff Jarrett" above the ring. Jarrett comes out to a huge introduction by his personal ring announcer David Penzer who is wearing a shirt that says "Double J Is My Savior". Jarrett gets up on the podium and instructs every single wrestler to come out to the ring and stand around to show respect for the world champion. 15 or 20 of the guys come out to the ring and circle the ring as the boastful Jarrett starts to make a "speech" about how great he is and how he appreciates all the "little guys in the back I had to step on to get to where I am today". Jarrett cuts a promo that he has proven to every single person alive why he is the best in this business and why no one has ever been able to knock him off his mountain. Jarrett proclaims that he has beat every single man he has ever had to face and will continue to do so because he is YOUR WCW World Heavyweight Champion. As Jarrett continues his "speech" all the lights in the arena and Jarrett's microphone go out. Jarrett screams for someone to turn his microphone and the lights back on. When all of a sudden....

Goldberg's music blares through out the arena....

Goldberg storms out through the curtain as commentary builds up the shocking return of Goldberg to WCW! Jarrett backs up in the corner of the ring and starts screaming for the guys to not let Goldberg get in the ring, but it is to no avail as the wrestlers part away from the ring and let Goldberg jump into the ring. Goldberg keeping his eyes locked on Jarrett gets into the ring and starts circling around the intimidated Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett continues to try and calm Goldberg down, even puts his hand out for a handshake to Goldberg.

Goldberg looks down at Jarrett's hand and looks back up before he storms at Jarrett and viciously spears Jarrett down to the mat as commentary sells how horrific that spear is!

Goldberg circles around the laid out body of Jeff Jarrett before picking up the microphone and saying three simple yet powerful words,

-It is official wrestling fans, Rob Van Dam has finally been called up to the main roster in WCW. It is uncertain what his role will be on TV, but WCW officially announced earlier this morning that Rob Van Dam is now officially on the active roster. RVD reportedly had an incident in his dark match where he went over the time limit, which led him to have some heat with the back office at WCW, but after numerous letters from the wrestling fans and constant recommendation from all the trainers at the Power Plant (especially Terry Funk), Bischoff has agreed to call up Van Dam. This is big news coming off the rumor that Todd Gordon was trying to create another ECW like brand and he was in talks with Van Dam. This might be Bischoff's way of countering that move as well and yanking out the carpet from under the new ECW before it can even get started.

- The wrestling world is still buzzing from the return of quite possibly WCW's hottest commodity they ever had, Goldberg. And it seems after last night we can all assume that Goldberg is slated to be the next number one contender. Previous talks were made with Goldberg and the WWF, and our sources had told us that Goldberg was scheduled to sign the contract with the WWF within the next month, however that fell through once Bischoff was able to offer a contract that would compensate Goldberg for each show he was on. A lighter work load was probably very intriguing to Goldberg as well, since currently WCW is not running any house shows.

- WCW talent Sid Vicious according to our sources is set to make a return back from his injury into WCW this coming up week on WCW Saturday Night. Sid had broken his leg several months ago and had to have surgery to open up his leg, however, we are being told that Sid is in almost 100% shape and is ready to get back into the mix in WCW.

- Our sources tell us that WCW is currently in preliminary talks with the pay per view provider Onstream Media Corporation, trying to get a big super card show scheduled in the near future. If the deal would go through, the show most likely would not be until August or September, but it seems as though if pay per view is only the next gradual step for WCW, as long as they don't saturate the market with a pay per view each month and allow it just to be one or a few super cards each year, 4 at most.

Has Harlem Heat Reunited?

The Gangstas made their mark in WCW, but are they tough enough to take out the combination of one of the most renowned and vicious tag teams in the history of WCW, Harlem Heat?

After New Jack and Mustafa Saed viciously attacked Booker T to make their mark, it was up to Booker's former tag team partner Stevie Ray to make a choice...or was that choice made for him? Weeks of attacks against Booker T, it looked like Stevie Ray had finally had enough, but it was New Jack and Mustafa who threw the first punch on Stevie Ray. Now with the sympathetic Stevie Ray aligned back with his former tag team partner, is this going to be the end for The Gangstas? Or will we see the former Harlem Heat teammates unsuccessfully grasping for one last chance? This match is clearly not going to be a wrestling match folks, but it is going to be a fight until one team is victorious over the other! You won't want to miss this huge brawl for tag team supremacy and all your other favorite WCW superstars this Saturday Night on WCW Saturday Night! PWTorch Exclusive (06/01/01)

- Independent wrestler Austin Aries is having a dark match for WCW on Saturday Night. His opponent will be Big Vito and this is Aries attempt at securing a developmental deal. Aries who is very unknown to the wrestling audience started training under Eddie Sharkey and Terry Fox and just started wrestling at the end of last year. Aries however is slowly developing a local reputation as a fantastic worker, but this might be WCW's way of just testing the waters with him to see if he would be worth a developmental deal. This will undoubtedly be his biggest break yet in the business.

- WCW Saturday Night earned a very distinguished 2.04 television rating, with the huge Goldberg return, it's highest segment, capping out at a powerful 2.72 television rating. Goldberg is clearly still very over with the WCW fans, and it will be very interesting to see what they do with Jarrett and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, with so many big names coming back into the fold.

Commentary brings in the show building up the huge brawl tag team match between New Jack and Mustafa against Booker T and Stevie Ray. Schiavone and Heenan both sell how due to the attack by Scott Steiner last week, Mike Tenay will not be joining them at the commentary booth. Commentary then switches gears to sell how huge the Goldberg debut was last week and how Jeff Jarrett's days might be number as WCW World Champion. But the discussion is abruptly broken up by the sound of

THE CHOSEN ONE....followed by Jeff Jarrett's theme music blaring through out the entire arena!

The WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett comes out and cuts a promo that last week he was physically assaulted by Bill Goldberg and he wants the commissioner to come out here and do something about this immediately. Goldberg comes out instead, and gets face to face with Jarrett without saying one word. Jarrett backs up and tells Goldberg that he doesn’t want any trouble and that it would be best for Goldberg to just leave and they can forget this ever happened. Goldberg smiles and shakes his head no. Jarrett goes to jump out of the ring, but Goldberg quickly grabs his arm and pulls him back in. Before Goldberg is about to attack Jarrett once again though, Sid Vicious comes storming out through the curtain. Sid already with a microphone in his hand starts to cut a promo on Jarrett and Goldberg that he should be the number one contender while Sid walks down the ramp and towards the ring. The very cautious Jarrett tries to find a quick escape, but Bam Bam Bigelow is the next one to come out through the curtain. Jarrett circles the ring to avoid any confrontation, but Bigelow who comes out through the curtain cuts a promo on top of the ramp about how tonight he will be the next WCW United States Champion and that it is only going to be a stepping stone once he is named the number one contender for the world title. Larry Zbyszko with a neck brace around his neck from last week’s DDP assault, finally comes out and announces that tonight there will be a 10 man battle royal to decide who will face Jeff Jarrett for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt. Jarrett throws his arms up in the air and screams at Zbyszko that he cannot do that, as Bigelow, Sid, and Goldberg all stare each other down.

Larry Zbyszko is backstage in his office when the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett busts through his door. Jarrett tells Zbyszko that he should not have to defend his belt unless the opponent is personally approved by the world champion, and he cannot be placed in the ring with mad men like Sid Vicious or Goldberg. Zbyszko smiles and tells Jarrett that the face of WCW is going to defend that role and defend that title belt to prove that he is the best each and every single time that he is told, because that is what a champion does. The irate Jeff Jarrett storms out of the room while Zbyszko stands there laughing about Jarrett’s frustration.

Steiner swiftly pushes Funk’s daughter out of the way and starts taunting at Funk while pushing his wheel chair back and forth. Funk tries to get up to stop Steiner, but the pain forces Funk to keep falling back into his wheel chair. Steiner with a sick smile on his face, taunts at Funk, telling him that he told him last week that he wanted Funk to come out to this ring and kiss his ass. Scott Steiner drops his pants and proceeds to put his ass in Funk’s face, as commentary builds up how sick and disrespectful this is. Terry Funk’s daughter runs and tries to grab Steiner, pleading with him to stop harassing her dad. Scott laughs and starts stalking down Funk’s daughter, screaming at her, acting as if he was going to attack her. As Steiner stalks down Funk’s daughter, all of a sudden,

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas defeated. "The Beast From The East" Bam Bam Bigelow

This match turns out to be a brawl from start to finish, with neither man truly getting an advantage over the other. Bam Bam hit several huge power moves onto the weakened Douglas, but each time Bigelow would go for the pin, Douglas would find a way to kick out at the count of two. It isn’t until Bam Bam hits a vicious power bomb onto Douglas that he goes for what was to be considered the deciding pinfall, but Kimberly gets on top of the apron and starts flirting with the referee, pulling her shirt down slightly to show her bra. While the referee’s head is turned, he is unable to make the count. Bam Bam who is raging in fury jumps back up to his feet and grabs Kimberly by her hair screaming in her face. But before Bigelow can hit Kimberly, Douglas quickly runs over to Bam Bam and rolls him up in a small package going for the pin and using the ropes for leverage. 1…2….3!!! Douglas wins! Douglas is the new WCW United States Champion!

After the match is over, Douglas quickly rolls out of the ring, not waiting for the referee to hold his arm up in victory, because Bam Bam immediately stands up and starts screaming in anger. Kimberly grabs the US title belt and wraps it around the shoulder of Shane Douglas, while Douglas continues to taunt at the fans and hold up his new title belt in arrogance. The referee tries to calm Bigelow down, but the upset Beast From The East, picks up the referee and delivers a horrific piledriver, driving the referee’s head into the unforgiving canvas.

Guerrero then gets face to face with Styles and tells him that he has done nothing but defend this week in and week out and he is not going to let anybody come in and take this title belt from him. While Guerrero continues to stare down Styles, Henning stands next to AJ Styles and starts to cut a promo on Guerrero that AJ Styles is the future of this industry and he is going to lead us into the year 2002 and beyond, and how Guerrero is nothing but just a place holder until “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles becomes the new WCW Cruiserweight Champion. Guerrero looks down at his title and then looks up at Perfect with a smile on his face and slaps Mr. Perfect right in the face. Booker T and Stevie Ray unload a ruthless set of punches and kicks on The Gangstas, with Booker T clearly taking his own personal shots at both New Jack and Mustafa. However, it isn’t long before Mustafa Saed slowly starts getting an advantage back over Booker T. The match is pretty dead even until Booker T attempts to pick up New Jack into a Book End, but is immediately derailed by a steel chain to the back of the head, BY HIS TAG TEAM PARTNER, STEVIE RAY! The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies The Gangstas for this attack, but they clearly do not care as all three of them continue to assault Booker T with the steel chain.

The beating is finally ended when Mustafa lies on top of Booker T and New Jack falls to the mat to count a 1, 2, 3 mock pin over Booker T. After Booker T is left lying on the mat motionless again, all three Gangstas lock arms and stand above the laid out and bloodied Booker T.

Sid Vicious is shown backstage with wide eyes bouncing back and forth, and slapping himself in the face multiple times as commentary builds up how crazy this man is, and Bobby Heenan continues on by saying that this man is his pick to become the new number one contender tonight.

The next elimination doesn’t come for another few minutes when Bam Bam Bigelow picks up Rob Van Dam and proceeds to try and throw him over the top rope, but as Bam Bam runs towards the ropes, Van Dam leaps onto a turnbuckle and drop kicks Bigelow’s back, forcing him to go sailing over the top rope!

BAM BAM BIGELOW IS ELIMINATED!!

After Bam Bam is eliminated he jumps back up onto his feet and starts slamming his hands on top of the commentary booth, while referees and officials escort him to the back. Raven darts at Van Dam to start working on him, but before he can get too far, Sid Vicious delivers a devastating big boot to the face of Raven, sending him flying over the top rope.

RAVEN IS ELIMINATED!!

Sid Vicious then immediately turns his attention over to Van Dam, as each time Van Dam looks as if he is getting an advantage, Sid quickly derails the momentum and hits him with a huge big man powerhouse move. Van Dam continues to try and battle back, but as Van Dam leaps off the middle rope to connect with a bicycle kick to Sid Vicious, Sid catches Van Dam in mid air and throws him over the top rope crashing onto the outside canvas like a dart.

Shane Douglas tries to catch Sid Vicious off guard and hit him from behind, but Sid quickly turns around and connects with a hard clothesline. Vicious gets on top of Douglas and starts pounding on Douglas with hard right hands to the face. Vicious picks up Douglas and throws him across the ring, crashing into the steel ring post. Scott Steiner runs over at Sid Vicious to ware him down, but Sid picks Steiner up and slams him down to the mat with a horrific power slam. As Shane Douglas slowly gets up to his feet once again, Diamond Dallas Page is shown jumping over the barricade, taunting at Shane Douglas. Shane starts screaming at Page to get out of here when Sid Vicious comes storming at Douglas, clotheslining him over the top rope and crashing down on his valet Kimberly.

SHANE DOUGLAS IS ELIMINATED!!

Dallas Page stands above Shane’s body with a smile on his face, doing the self high taunt at the crowd as security comes rushing down to the ring to arrest Dallas Page for violating his suspension.

Now with only three men left in the battle royal, Scott Steiner tries to convince Goldberg to team up on Sid Vicious, but Goldberg decides to knock out Steiner with a raging spine buster of his own. Goldberg then darts over at Sid Vicious and starts attacking him, as they brawl around the ring, trying to pick each other up over the top rope. As Goldberg is trying to lift Sid Vicious over the top rope, Scott Steiner rushes over from behind them, and tries to eliminate them, but instead Sid Vicious is the only one to actually fall over the top rope and onto the floor.

SID VICIOUS IS ELIMINATED!!

With Scott Steiner thinking that he has won the battle royal, he starts posing in his usual heel manner to the fans. As he turns around though, he is met with a BRUTAL SPEAR!! Goldberg jumps back up onto his feet and delivers a huge Jackhammer onto Scott Steiner, laying him out motionless on the mat. Goldberg then picks up Steiner by his head and proceeds to throw him over the top rope, crashing on the outside of the ring!

SCOTT STEINER IS ELIMINATED!!

Goldberg is pronounced the winner and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett stands up from the commentary booth with his eyes locked on the new number one contender, without saying a word. Goldberg climbs on the top turnbuckle and looks over at Jarrett motioning that he will be the next world champion and screaming at Jarrett that he is next!! As Goldberg continues to scream at Jarrett, the world champion clinches onto his World Heavyweight Championship belt and starts walking backwards up the ramp as commentary builds up how it looks like Jeff Jarrett has just seen his entire reign flash before his eyes.

It’s not long though before cameras quickly switch over to show WCW officials running over to a bloodied and unconscious Sid Vicious on the ground backstage. WCW Commissioner Larry Zbyszko is shown trying to tend to Sid, but Vicious continues to bleed profusely, while Zbyszko screams for the EMTs to come help. The show comes to a close as commentary builds up and sells the suspense of what happened to Sid Vicious and who was responsible.
