When Vince Jr took over the company from his father, he turned in from an event into a touring event & then later into a weekly broadcast. Then as time progressed he turned it into a show & it became more & more of a show during the 90's. Vice originally owned a company called Titan Sports or something like that witch also was an outlet for distributing media content of that point in time. He then incorporated that into WWE (WWF) during the 90's. Witch would first launch off those silly CD's of WWF "the entrance themes Volume 1 - 5" ? n so on. Also putting WWE content on other forms of media such as (at the time) VHS witch would later turn into DVD & now days "On-Demand" content via a cable provider. WWE also started their branding in video games too. Also they have their stars doing movies from time to time & sometimes (like the longest yard) to help reach out to big time actors like Adam Sandler etc etc. Point is, WWE isn't just wrestling, cause of that silly little company vince owned back in the day & incorporated it into his father's company (WWF) now WWE. That explains how come Vince can pretty much find ways to brand WWE in just more than one market of sales when it comes to media distribution. So those of you who think WWE should be more action, less talk & for them to stop those silly "out side of the ring gimmicks". Chances are it's never going to happen anytime soon. How ever thats based upon reading some info via Wikipedia on WWE tied in w/ my OPINIONS.

It stopped being a wrestling company after it opened its own IPO stock. It's a corporation now.

The fact that Vince now has so much money it means that he can take more risks than many others and if he fails it isn't the end of the world. Kinda just spent over $50 million on a failed bid to the senate and it didn't affect their bottom line that much. They can afford to splash around big sums of money on extra things like bodybuilding, XFL, movies, music etc. and the results don't matter too much except for when the stockholders are involved. WWE has also become a pop culture phenomenon and when people think of wrestling they immediately think of WWE (or in some cases WWF).

Yeah, this is a bit of a dated topic really. One way I look at it is that during the 80's and most of the 90's WWF treated its programming like a sport that just happen to be broadcast on tv, nowadays it treats it like an actually tv show, which might have a bit of wrestling here and there. And that is a huge problem.
