Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Carmelo wants to talk to 3 suitors

Asked whether Carmelo Anthony wants to meet directly with his suitors before making a deal, Anthony said: " I think, with anything in business, you want to sit and look in a person's eyes. Whether it's Prokhorov or it's (New York Knicks owner James) Dolan, whether it's (Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry) Buss, the third team that just came out last week. Whoever it is, you want to sit and have eye contact with them and get a feel for them."
Melo said on NBA TV that the Nuggets and Lakers just talked a couple days ago. He also said he hasn't talked with Denver about extending since December and that he and the Nets have no meeting arranged right now.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

This is just a hideous deal for New Jersey. Four 1st rounders are still four 1st rounders, and getting Melo isn't going to turn them into an upper-tier team. They lose Harris (who I'm not crazy about, but is still very talented) and Favors (who could be a beast), only get back Chauncey Billups, a hugely overrated overpaid aging PG who won't be part of any future success the Nets have.

Now on the Knicks' side of things, they don't have to give up their entire core and a bunch of picks, and they can still pursue Dwight and CP3 next year. I'm sure their reactionary fans would cry about missing out on Carmelo, but it would be such a blessing for them.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Denver hasn't given him permission to talk the Nets owners or LA/NYK owners according to one report, just like last time

The Nuggets are really fucking their own deals up it seems

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

TNT is doing a fantasy NBA draft with its 6 analysts, my understanding is that they're acting as if they're building teams. I think we could have some fun with that setup. Maybe we should do that.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Do you mean all time draft or just current players?

I keep having to flip the stream on and off

How stupid can you be? It's not Michael fucking Jordan, it's Carmelo Anthony. Let him go.

Seriously, there's a ham sandwich in the fridge, there are some fucking Omaha steaks on the way tomorrow, and these two roommates are fighting over the sandwich. That's what's going on here.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Fucking stupid if the Knicks do that. Melo is good but god damn he is not worth the core of your team. Wow talk about panic.
