As ratings, buyrates and merchandise sales continue to dip and dip even lower, an internal mutiny builds within WWE. Unbeknownst to Vince, the wrestlers were hatching a plan to overthrow Vince and take over with their locker room leaders in charge, namely Undertaker and Triple H. However Vince catches whiff of this and decides to act quickly, he holds a meeting to try and come to an agreement of some kind but it ends horribly as Vince, Hunter and Taker all fall out and Taker and Hunter split from the WWE taking Stephanie McMahon with them. The mutinous wrestlers join them in due time and after a year they begin a new wrestling federation based on what wrestling was built on, wrestling and entertaining the fans. They bought out many contracts from all over the world and signed some free-agents, some hot young talents and some experianced hands, and they bring to us now... the International Federation of Wrestling.

IFW: Saturday Fight Night Ep.1 - A New Dawn, A New Day, a New Light - 2nd July 2011

ERC-FightNight-2008-500x125.jpg

Promo package retells the story of how IFW came to be and then we open with all the hoopla, typical pyro and action shots reveal the new very green set. Green ropes, green tron etc. The fans are going crazy as IFW debuts in the Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas. We are introduced to our commentary team of Jim Cornette and Mick Foley

Opening Segment - Triple H and Undertaker walk down to the ring together to introduce the fans to the new show. The crowd give the two legends a standing ovation for almost a minute straight. 'Taker cuts to business and says he will not be competing in this company, ever but he will be the commisioner. Triple H also announces his retirement and says he will be taking up a job as talent executive scouting new talent to bring into the company and making relationships with other brands and making linking possibilities. Hunter and Taker say they will work together to bring about a new era in professional wrestling when suddenly the music of CM Punk plays over the PA system and he appears on the stage. He first commends Taker and HHH on the new leap they've taken, but accuses them of being the exact same as McMahon and challenges them to do different. Taker tells him he better get ready to shut up and start fighting because he's going to get something different in IFW's opening contest, as he will take on a mystery opponent to decide one of four men who will go into a Four Way Dance at IFW's first Pay Per View, Revolution.

1st Match - CM Punk Vs Raven. Opponent is revealed to be Raven. The smarts in the crowd know the history between Raven and Punk and as such are hyped for the match between the Straight-Edge Superstar and the hardcore veteran. They have a back and forth match that spills to the outside, CM Punk dumps Raven on his head on the outside with a Piledriver. This upsets commentator Mick Foley who is a strong voice in the field of concussions in wrestling. He feels the need to uphend Punk. Punk flips him off and enters the ring he is unsuccessful in pinning Raven. Punk seems now angry at Foley, he throws a punch at Foley but Raven attacks him from behind and tosses him back into the ring, Foley and Raven have a smile at each other but as Raven re-enters the ring Punk catches him with a Roundhouse Kick, which is then followed by the GTS for the win. Winner - CM Punk via Pinfall at 15:33

CM Punk rolls out of the ring and laughs as he walks past Foley, Foley speaks about Punk being reckless and endangering another man's livelyhood. Raven however seems pissed at Foley for Foley trying to save his career and the two have words before Raven walks off dissapointed as we go to a commercial break.

Backstage Promo - Drew McIntyre talks about how Vince McMahon gave him false hope and that now he is his own man free from McMahon and his false promises, and he promises to become the first ever IFW Prestige Champion tonight against a nobody like Trent Barretta. Sheamus interupts, he reminds Drew that he has accomplished more than him in the business despite coming from the same area and competing with each other previous to their WWE call up. Sheamus then wishes McIntyre luck in his Prestige title match, also says he has a match to get into the four way later tonight. McIntyre wishes Sheamus luck, but as the Irishman walks away, the expression of McIntyre changes to a frown and he walks away angrily.

2nd Match - Prestige Championship - 30 Minute Ironman Match - Drew McIntyre Vs Trent Barretta. The match is fast paced with Trent Barretta's exciting style mixing well with McIntyre' s rough european style. McIntyre unsuprisingly catches Barretta out as he flies from the top rope and reverses a Diving Huracanrana into a Powerbomb for the first pin. 1-0. Barretta however fights back from this but is quickly doused out with a big boot knocking him to the outside. Drew throws him about on the outside, the Scotsman showing his sadistic edge as he goes to drop Barretta down on the steel steps but Barretta escapes and smashes Drew's head off of the steel ring post before throwing him into the ring, Barretta goes up top and hits McIntyre with a Moonsault. Barretta covers and gets the suprising pin to level it off at 1-1 at the 13 minute mark. Both men are reset and they have some chain-wrestling for about 5 minutes, reversing and reversing each other again. This eventually ends when Barretta outwrestles McIntyre, causing McIntyre to throw a hissy fit and he punches Barretta with a clenched fist. The referee tells him off but Drew tells him to piss off. Drew goes to life Barretta back up but is caught out with a small package and his shoulders are counted to the mat for three. 1-2 in Barretta's favour on the 20 minute mark. For five minutes Barretta continues to frustrate Drew with his reversals and high-flying arsenal and as we reach the final five minutes things get frantic. Drew finally takes the upper hand and begins to pound on Barretta, he then hits the Future Shock DDT on Barretta on the 28 minute mark and covers, but only for two as Barretta's foot was on the bottom rope, Drew thinks he has won and gets off of Trent only to be told he had his foot on the rope, Drew argues with the referee but as he does so the clock strikes 30 and match is ended. Winner - Trent Barretta at 30:00 (2-1), new IFW Prestige Champion!.

Barretta escapes ringside and Drew's wrath and poses on the ramp with the belt. Drew takes out his frustrations on referee Charles Robinson hitting him with the Future Shock DDT. Drew throws a tantrum about the ring before heading up the ramp scowling at the crowd.

Commisioner Taker Announcement: Taker, from his office, announces that next week the Ladies Championship will be up for grabs in a Battle Royal match between all 12 off the beautiful ladies of IFW. He then announces the rest of tonights matches. In the contendership matches, Sheamus will take on Kurt Angle in tonights main event. and Desmond Wolfe will take on Kane and Randy Orton will take on Abyss in the main event next week. He then announces that there will be a Tag Team title tournement beginning this week an eight man tag up next where the Uso's and The Highlanders would team to face London and Kendrick and Priceless. And that's now. Then all of a sudden Drew McIntyre busts into the room and demands that Charles Robinson be fired. Taker tells him to calm down because nobody is getting fired, he tells Drew to grow up, grow a set and prove his worth to Big Evil or he will be fired, not the ref. Drew says he will, and he leaves. Taker reminds him to show some respect and knock next time, or he'll knock his teeth down his throat. Commercial break.

3rd Match - Eight Man Tag Team Match - Robbie and Rory McAllister and Jey and Jimmy Uso Vs Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. The match has a frantic pace and goes back and forth, the pivotal moment in the match comes when Cody hits a flying knee on Rory McAllister knocking him senseless. What follows is a serious of double team assaults by Priceless until Kendrick tags himself in none-too-happy with Priceless' tactics. This allows Rory a chance to leap over and tag in his partner Robbie who enters only to be caught with a Jumping Calf Kick. After a serious of dropkicks, Kendrick hits him with Sliced Bread Number 2 and then tags in London who hits him with a 450 Splash for the cover and the win. Winners: Londrick and Priceless at 6:23.

Commisioner Taker appears up on the tron and announces that the winning teams would face each other in a semi-final in two weeks time, and announces next weeks brackets with Beer Money taking on Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, and Gunner and Murphy taking L.A.X. Priceless and Londrick then have a breif staredown, before Priceless attacks but Londrick quickly seize the upper hand sending the heels fleeing up the ramp.

Backstage: Drew McIntyre is fuming still when Sheamus walks into the locker room and passes Drew, Sheamus laughs to himself, Drew asks what's so funny. Sheamus tells him that Drew losing to Trent Barretta is funny, and tells him that he'll always live in his shadow. Drew storms off angrily again.

Match 4: Kharma Vs Ariel. Before Ariel can stand up in the ring Kharma attacks her and immediately sets to work destroying her. She hits her with a big splash in the corner before planting her with a Powerbomb. Kharma then proceeds to leap into the air and drop down onto Ariel with a Big Splash. Kharma laughs to herself maniacally as she lifts Ariel up and places her head between her legs and proceeds to hit her with the Implant Buster. Kharma turns Ariel over and covers for the win in shockingly quick fashion. Winner - Kharma at 2:03

There is a shot of the locker room where everyone looks to each other in fear before Ayako Hamada steps out from the crowd and declares that she can beat her, Beth Pheonix, Gail Kim and Velvet Sky also come out and proclaim that they can beat her, the rest of the women then argue that they can beat her before the camera fades to commericals.

In-Ring Promo: Alberto Del Rio comes out to the ring to much fanfare in his Bentley convertible. He enters the ring and speaks to the crowd about his destiny and why he chose to leave WWE and join the IFW, saying that his destiny was to be the head of the world's greatest wrestling promotion, not some old fashioned children's show. He then proclaims himself top-dog in the company and demands to know why he wasn't booked in the four contendership matches when suddenly The Final Countdown hits and Bryan Danielson comes down to the ring. He says that WWE made a mockery of him, he says he will never use the slave name of Daniel Bryan ever again and vows to show the world what Vince didn't want any of them to see... Bryan Danielson being a success in the wrestling industry. Alberto Del Rio says Bryan wasn't successful because it wasn't his destiny to be successful, Bryan says if Del Rio doesn't shut up, his destiny will be having his head kicked in by the American Dragon. Danielson then tells Del Rio to put up or shut up and challenges him to a match at Revolution. Del Rio says he will accept but one condition, that the match be made a Lucha Rules Match. 2 out of 3 Falls, 20 Second Count Out. Bryan accepts and the match is set for Revolution.

Main Event - Sheamus Vs Kurt Angle. The match starts out with a slow-paced wrestling hold exchange. Kurt Angle takes the upperhand and takes Sheamus down to the mat where he proceeds to slap on various holds, but Sheamus stands up and charges Angle backwards into the turnbuckle. What follows is a serious of hard-hitting blows from Sheamus. Sheamus then goes for a Suplex but is reversed, Angle drops down behind and goes for a German Suplex, but Sheamus reverses, turns round and drops Angle with a DDT. Both Angle and Sheamus stay down for a while. But when they both arise, Sheamus hits him with a Celtic Hammer. Sheamus is in control now with a series of rest holds, chin-locks and the sorts. Kurt Angle fights to his feet with the willing of the crowd, who chant his name, Kurt Angle breaks out and quickly hits Sheamus with a German Suplex, he holds it, before lifting Sheamus up for a second and then a third. Kurt Angle now gets up and stands behind Sheamus. Sheamus gets up and Angle goes for the Angle Slam, but Sheamus reverses and lands on his feet behind Angle before clobbering Angle with a Lariat from behind. Drew McIntyre suddenly appears at the top of the stage, Sheamus looks up confused as McIntyre walks right past the ring and down beside the commentary desk where he sits on a steel folding chair, watching the match unfold. Sheamus continues and locks in a Texas Cloverleaf on Angle, but Angle reaches the bottom rope. Sheamus lets go after a count of 4. Sheamus has words with Drew, but gets back on task only to have his ankle picked and the Ankle Lock locked in as he drops to the mat, Angle wrenches it but Sheamus has a hold of the rope and Angle has to break the hold. Sheamus drops out to the outside as we go to a commerical break.

We come back and Angle and Sheamus are brawling on the outside. Angle knocks Sheamus down at the feet of McIntyre with a European Uppercut. Sheamus gets up and locks eyes with Drew, distracting himself as Angle takes him down with a Chop-Block and immediately goes to work on the ankle, stomping on it before shoving Sheamus in the ring. He drags Sheamus to the post and proceeds to swing Sheamus' leg off the ring post. Angle then gets in the ring to break the count at 9. Angle then continues to work on the ankle of The Celtic Warrior. Sheamus fights to his feet but is quickly hit with a Belly to Belly Throw by Angle. Angle then drops the straps and things get serious. Angle stands waiting for Sheamus to get to his feet when suddenly McIntyre gets up on the ring apron, Angle turns round and goes to swing at McIntyre, but Drew steps down and walks backwards laughing. Angle continues to have words with Drew over the top rope, but as he turns round he turns into a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then covers Angle for the shocking win. Winner - Sheamus at 20:45.

Sheamus looks on in confusion as McIntyre enters the ring. He has a chair in hand, he stands facing Sheamus, Sheamus looks in fear, but Drew smiles, turns and starts beating Angle up.
