The first two Survivor Series both had a 5 on 5 tag team elimination match both of which lasted the best part of an hour. They were something different compared with the other elimination matches on the card and a great showcase for the depth of the tag division at the time. But which was better?

I prefer the 88 match. I always mark for the double turn at the end. Plus the match is just none stop action, with twists and turns. The lineup is just a little bit more stacked than the 87 match. Having The Rockers and Brain Busters involved make it even stronger. 87 Series as a show top to bottom is probably stronger, but I prefer this match to the 87 one.

I think I'm leaning towards 87 myself but I haven't watched either in awhile

The 1988 survivor series opening match is one of my favourite matches of all time with such talents as Bret Hart,Shawn Michaels, British bulldogs, Demolition, brain busters etc. you can't go wrong. The twist at the end with Fuji is great. This is a stellar match.
