World Wrestling Entertainment will be bringing back the Diva Search. The plan is to do run the Search over a ten week period on WWE programming. I haven't heard an official start for the latest version. WWE has been auditioning potential new women over the last several months, some of whom will likely end up in this new version.

*Sigh*

it might not be so bad i mean michelle mccool did come from one, if it turns out more women who want to wrestle instead of just be tits and ass i'm for it, but i doubt that.

The concept will reportedly be similar to NXT as the contestants would be mentored by WWE Divas. Additionally, it is said that company officials will make a concentrated effort to recruit female talent from the independent wrestling scene.
Son of a bitch.

If they actually recruit from the Indy scene then it might not actually be as tragic as I expect it to be, although I won't hold out much hope.

This better be about getting women that can actually wrestle and not about hiring more bikini models.

Why not just make it a damn web show and let it replace NXT?

I guess their logic comes from the fact that quite a few contestants (not just the winners) of these Diva Searches over the years have not only gone on to have successful WWE careers, but even championship runs. LayCool comes to mind immediately. The fact that they're looking at some indy talent pushes this perspective as well.
