The mummified remains of a former playboy playmate have been found in her home in Benedict Canyon.

The body of 82-year old Yvette Vickers was discovered by a neighbor in an upstairs room of her Westwanda Street home on April 27.

Authorities say the condition of her remains suggest she could have been dead for at least a year.

The one-time playmate and actress starred in cult films such as "Attack of the 50-Foot Woman" and "Attack of the Giant Leeches."

Her first movie appearance was as Yvette Vedder in Sunset Boulevard (1950), although the role was minor and she was uncredited.

She made her first movie appearance under her own name in Short Cut to Hell (1957).

In 1958 she appeared in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman as Honey Parker.

The following year she played the role of Liz Walker in Attack of the Giant Leeches.

In 1959 she appeared as the Playboy Playmate of the Month for the July issue.

She also appeared in several other men's magazines.

The official cause of death has not been determined, but police say there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Neighbor Susan Savage told the L.A. Times she went to check on Vickers after noticing old letters and cobwebs in her mailbox.

"The letters seemed untouched and were starting to yellow," Savage said.

"I just had a bad feeling."
