Major TNA Change Announced At Tonight's Impact Taping (12/5 Spoiler)

Mick Foley came out in a segment at tonight's TNA Impact taping (that will air next week) and revealed he is the "network" person that has been keeping Hulk Hogan in check. Interrupting a promo by Immortal, Foley informed the faction that from now on TNA Impact will be known as Impact Wrestling. Foley said the show will be all about wrestling.

TNA filed the trademark for the term "Impact Wrestling" a couple weeks ago.

At least it gets rid of the tacky 'TNA' name.

Actually don't mind the name change, and if there serious about focusing on wrestling, then I'm actually excited for the change.

Pro Wrestling Dot Net has confirmed that the name change from TNA Impact to Impact Wrestling is NOT for the whole company but rather just the show. There seemed to be a bit of confusion what this name change meant for the company.

I hope this is the beginning of them slowly phasing out the TNA name all together. "Impact Wrestling" has a ring to it and whilst I don't think the name will make a big (pardon the pun) impact, I think them marketing themselves as wrestling when WWE refuses too is smart.

Just read that it's not TNA becoming Impact Wrestling but rather the show being called Impact wrestling. At least that is how it stands now.
