Jerry Lawlers 61st Birthday

Jerry Lawler must have had a great 61st birthday. He got to mainevent RAW and challenge for the WWE title for the first time ever. As he mentioned on the show he had been in the WWE since 1993, on and off obviously, and had never received a title shot. Plus it wasn't just a regular match against The Miz it was a TLC match since in three weeks time it is the TLC PPV.

What did you think about Lawlers match with The Miz?

I liked the match immensely, it brought heat on Miz and company, it didn't make Miz look weak in my eyes. It also was Lawlers best WWE match of his career.

I don't know if this is the right thread to comment on the Miz and what bareing the match had on him. But the match itself was better than anyone had any right to expect, Lawler to his credit took good bumps, and clealy it was a nice birthday present. Having said that it was the wrong match for Miz's first title defence, and he was made to look weak.

I really liked the match as well since my expectations were not that high for it. I didn't expect Lawler at his age to perform how he did in the ring and The Miz isn't the best wrestler yet the match worked out really well.

I actually didn't mind that The Miz faced Lawler for his first title defence. This way they didn't waste a potential PPV match on RAW and give it away for free rather than making people pay money to see it.
