WWE will be releasing a DVD called the "Top 50 Superstars of All Time" and The Wrestling Observer has revealed that Shawn Michaels will be revealed as the #1 superstar of all time on the release. Rounding out the top 10 includes Michaels, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, The Rock, Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Andre the Giant, Rey Mysterio and Roddy Piper. No doubt this list will be controversial.

Here is how the full list looks from 1 to 50:

50. Killer Kowalski

There are a few surprises but overall it seems like a reasonably fair list. Everyone will come up with a different top fifty because of personal preferences so it is a difficult job to do.

For me Hogan being down at 23 is surely due to him being with TNA, same with Ric Flair being number 17. If they were still with WWE they would have been higher up the list.

With the top five I was surprised to see Bret Hart ahead of the Rock but other than that it is fine. I do think that the fact that Shawn Michaels only recently retired and that Undertaker is still wrestling helped them get top two ahead of The Rock and SCSA.

One huge ommision is Brock Lesnar. He really was the next big thing and should easily be on the top fifty list.

What do you think of the list?
