Jeff Hardy's Open Challenge for IMPACT!

As reported earlier, next week's episode of TNA iMPACT! will feature match-ups initially pegged for Sunday's pay-per-view event. One of the matches advertised for iMPACT! is Jeff Hardy's "Open Challenge." The open challenge is expected to be met by a wrestler let go by World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year.

For me I think that the opponent for Jeff Hardy will be Gregory Helms making his TNA debut. Helms was let go by WWE earlier this year and he has a lot of friends in TNA so it makes a lot of sense for him to be the one to debut here.

Other options could be Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass but they have both signed with ROH. Jimmy Wang Yang is another option but I can't see TNA giving him a contract.

Who do you think will be the opponent for Jeff Hardy?

It's most likely Helms. I don't think that is a huge signing but it makes sense. I don't see him as a main event player though.

I agree with you, Scott. It's got to be Helms, I just don't see who else would be the guy. I wish it was Batista, but it's a fools dream.
