Rate the PPV-Day 4-Wrestlemania 22

Well the Royal Rumble 2001 gets a 63, not many votes so hopefully this will.

WM22logo.jpg

* Pre WrestleMania match: Viscera won an 18-man Interpromotional battle royal featuring: Eugene, Goldust, Snitsky, Tyson Tomko, Rob Conway, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Matt Striker from RAW and Super Crazy, Psicosis, Funaki, Steven Richards, Johnny Nitro, Joey Mercury, Road Warrior, William Regal, Simon Dean from SmackDown! (9:00)
o Viscera eliminated Snitsky last to win.
o It is suspected that Viscera and Road Warrior were meant to be the last two left in the ring, as after Road Warrior gets eliminated, Snitsky can be clearly seen whispering to Viscera what to do next, with Road Warrior looking concerned.

Good PPV. The WHC match was a bit short but still good. HHH vs Cena was pretty good, not great though, HBK vs Vince was just an ass whooping and I loved every minute, Taker vs Henry was boring and you knew Taker would win, James vs Trish was a very good divas match, Boogeyman vs Booker T was bad, Edge vs Mic Foley stole the show that was an incredible match, JBl vs benoit was mediocre should have been good but for some reason was not, the MITB was also incredible, and the tag match was okay. Now that I think about it, this WM is over rated, I dont even think the build up was that good.

8/10

8/10... The Edge/Foley match became an instant classic, the MITB Ladder match had it share of big spots. Besides, RVD won and that's always good. The WHC match was good but it was way to short, while Henry vs Taker was well, it was a Mark Henry match and there was no doubt who would win.

John Cena vs HHH was a decent match which the crowd made better, and the Vince vs HBK fight had was good for what it was.

Wrestlemania 22 was one of the best Wrestlemania's in history. With Undertaker defeating Mark Henry, which was my favorite match. Edge Vs. Mick Foley was alright, it was voted the best match of 2006 in the wwe magazines. I am going to give this blockbuster Wrestlemania a 10/10!

9.5/10 This one is a no brainer. Flaming tables, crazy crowds, ladder match, casket match, HBK vs. Vince, in my town, and Mickie James licking her hand (lol) how could it be bad? Only bad thing was Mysterio being champ, he is like 4 ft tall, kind of out of place

See and I'm a little more harsh. I'll give it a 7. Other then a solid match between Triple H & Cena, Foley vs. Edge, MITB and the opening Tag Title match, a lot of the PPV was bad booked matches that no one cared about or were just sloppy. Mickie James and Trish botched there finish. For the first time Undertaker retaining his undefeated streak was not in doubt. People crapped all over Mysterio winning and the match was too short for a World Title match, Torrie vs. Candice was just horriable to be so high up on the card. People don't want to see Vince wrestle at WM's, Boogeyman had not place in the card, and the US Title match was not as good of a booked finish as it could or should have been.

I must say I'm more in agreement with This Guy than the rest of you. I know it was a Wrestlemania so people tend to get a bit excited but seriously guys, are your memories failing you? Do you not remember the appalling Boogeyman vs. Booker T squash, the lame Playboy pillow fight, the dull Show/Kane vs. Carlito/Masters match, the underwhelming Benoit vs. JBL clash and Undertaker being forced to wrestle himself in order to make his bout with Mark Henry look passable? This was not a great Wrestlemania by any means. Also the great Rey/Angle/Orton match was far too short and the so-so Cena/HHH title match far too long. I love the whole Wrestlemania spectacle and get together with a few mates every year to make a night of it but I remember how disappointed everyone was. Maybe when you've stayed up until 4am to watch the premier event in the wrestling calendar you expect better.

Based on the good stuff I'd give it 9/10 but factoring in the above crap it's 7/10 from me.

Every Wrestlemania had crap though. Just about every card ever made some junk.

Taker vs Henry may not seem like the blockbuster we are used to but i think its a fair match for being 6th on the card.

Booker vs Boogie was so short as if it never happend.

I have no complaints on the US title match.

My biggest complaint is probably the world title match bein so short. The show still had about 4-5 very memorable matches though, which most WM have 2-3.

1) HHH vs Cena
2) Edge vs Foley
3) HBK vs Vince
4) Orton vs Angle vs Rey
5) mitb

HHH vs. Cena was only memorable because Cena made a tool out of himself for dressing up as a gangster but looking like a flasher and Hunter made a tool out of himself for dressing up as Conan and submitting to the STFU, the weakest looking finisher since the Scorpion Deathlock.

I agree that every Wrestlemania has crap but I think that half of the WM22 card being disappointing is too low a hit rate for the event of the year. Armageddon 2006 was more consistently satisfying, which really shouldn't be the case.

The STFU and the scorpion deathlock aint week Brett Hart used the same move it aint week at all. Anyway I remember last year I went on the Box Office and I watched the free view of the PPV. I saw the first match and I decided to actually buy the PPV and I thought it was excellent. I mean I know that there was the Bogeyman V Booker match but the build up when Booker and his Mrs where backstage and all those freaks. Their little segment was hilarious the match sucked though. The rest of the PPV was great I mean the Foley/Edge match I think sealed Edge as a main eventer that Match was awesome and it had some sick bumbs. The HBK/Vince match was great honestly I think so cause HBK kicked Vince's ass. The SD Main event was short but sweet I was in total shock when Rey won. And I was in bigger shock when Cena retained. I enjoyed hearing the fans Boo Cena the boos where really bad I actually felt sorry for Cena. I also liked their Gimmick entrances. The Henry/Taker match was disappointing the only cool bits of it was when Taker went flying over the top rope onto Henry and last ride.
9/10 good PPV

The STFU and the Deathlock both suffer from not convincingly applying (or even appearing to imply) pressure. Bret Hart's Sharpshooter was delivered like it would break your back. Austin looked like a superhero despite losing consciousness to the move at WM13 because of how convincing Bret made the move look. Anyone selling Sting or Cena's submissions looks weak for submitting to it and the suspension of disbelief is lost.

I agree, Bret Hart & Owen Hart were the only two to make the Sharpshooter/Scorpion Death Lock look like a real move. When The Rock did it, it always looked like he was about to take a crap.

I don't agree that the STFU doesn't look beleivable. The guy wrenches back and his vains start popping out, it looks beleivable to me. I just hate the name of the move.
