Pro-wrestling may be coming to a theater near you. WWE brass has been discussions with movie theater event company Fathom Events to bring Wrestlemania 27 to theaters across the nation…in 3D.

Though the news is purely at the rumor stage, WWE discussions with Fathom are ongoing as each company haggles over revenue. WWE wants 47% of Pay-Per-View (PPV) revenue while Fathom wants a larger cut of the action. WWE also wants a reported 60-70% of revenue from theaters as well.

I think it would make for an interesting watch, but wouldn't they risk exposing themselves and the cues somewhat as well?

And the 3D craze is still going I see. Probably will make some good money off of it if this goes through.

You wouldn't go watch WM in a movie theater and in 3D?

Would depend on the price honestly. Because it does cost more watching it in 3D. I don't really care for 3D so if it costed more than just ordering it at home than I wouldn't go.

HD was apparently going to expose the business and that never happened and I don't see 3D doing it either.

Correct. I wouldn't. God knows what the outrageous price would be for this, and I don't care about 3D.

I assume that the price would be like 20 bucks, which is the price for one of Fathom's concert when you buy ahead of time.

No way. They'd charge > $50 for you to watch it in your living room. No chance they'd charge less for you to see it in a theater.

Hannah Montana concert on ppv live costed 40 bucks, but they charged you 20 to watch it in a theater (I know this because it was a present to my sister) through Fathom.

I seriously doubt they would charge you on par with the 65 bucks to watch it at home, when the theaters would have to pay them for the rights to their broadcast as well (just like a bar does on ppv night)

Minus the 3D aspect, i don't think this is anything new. I saw WM19 at a movie theatre (I live in Australia).

You make it sound like a bad thing. :p

If it came out here in Australia, I'm not sure if I'd see it in 3D. If my younger brother and sister wanted to see it I may take them, just depends on the cost.
