* - Backstory - *

2010 was a bad year for WWE. Their stock fell throughout the year and ratings fell gradually by the week. In November, angry shareholders warned Vince at an annual general meeting that if he failed to buck the emerging trend, then the company would face crisis. This was something Vince already knew, and he assured the shareholders that the company would prevail from the turmoil. The start to 2011 wasn't much better. The Royal Rumble & Elimination Chamber both achieved disastrous buyrate numbers, and WWE was heading into Wrestlemania 27, the biggest show of the year, in a disturbing slump. Vince knew things had to change in order for Wrestlemania not to bomb like Royal Rumble & Elimination Chamber had done.

He announced plans to scrap the PG direction of the company. As further cost-cutting measures, he announced that certain members of the roster would be released from their contract (although they could be signed back up at any time).

The week after Elimination Chamber, Shane McMahon was revealed as the mystery GM of Raw. Now, on February 28th, Raw rolls towards Wrestlemania with its next show...

Information

* Assume that last week's Raw (the one which featured the HHH/Taker standoff) never happened.

* Assume that none of the number one contenders were decided at Elimination Chamber.

* Basically, I'm starting fresh with most of the feuds.

Monday Night Raw: February 28th 2011

*-Confirmed for tonight's show-*
Main Event - Undertaker vs. CM Punk
John Cena vs. John Morrison
Evan Bourne vs. Sheamus
Divas Championship Match
More!

Show start
Pyros start the show with a bang and the first man out for the night is John Cena. He comes out to the ring and talks about Wrestlemania legacy. He talks about doing something nobody has ever done before... beating the Undertaker. He tells the crowd he wants a match with Undertaker, and knowing that he's in the arena, he calls him out. Undertaker doesn't appear and leaves Cena hanging.

Plug for Undertaker vs. CM Punk later tonight

Sheamus def. Evan Bourne
In an entertaining back and forth match, Sheamus prevailed over Bourne. The match ended when Bourne managed to floor Sheamus with a chop block, climbed up onto the top rope and then missed a Shooting Star Press. When he stood back up and walked into a Pump Kick from Sheamus.

Ad break for Wrestlemania

Sheamus is sat back in the locker room after his match, when CM Punk enters with the rest of Nexus. CM Punk tells Sheamus that there's a place for him in Nexus if he wants it. Moreover, he wants the help of Sheamus later on tonight when he faces The Undertaker. Sheamus tells him to beat it. Punk tells Sheamus he's made a mistake, and leaves.

Back to the ring, and 'AWESOMEEE' plays through the speakers. Miz enters the arena with A-Riley and his WWE Championship. Miz tells everyone that WWE can't find a worthy opponent for him at Wrestlemania, which is why there currently isn't a number one contender. He is interupted by Randy Orton, who has a great idea for Miz; Orton vs. Miz at Wrestlemania. Miz laughs off the idea, before Shane McMahon enters. Shane tells the pair that it will NOT be Miz vs. Orton at Wrestlemania, which pleases Miz to no end. Shane, however, does tell Miz and Orton that both of them will learn who their respective opponent is for Wrestlemania... next week on Raw.

Undertaker Wrestlemania 18-0 advert plays and hypes Wrestlemania

Divas Championship - Natalya def. Eve (c)
Energetic matchup between the two divas. Eve bounced around and Natalya used her vastly superior wrestling. Match ended when Eve tried to hit a sunset flip on Natalya, but Natalya stood firm and countered it into a Sharpshooter. Eve tapped out for a new champion in Natalya.

Ad break promoting Wrestlemania

Shane McMahon comes to the ring and officially announces Money in the Bank for Wrestlemania 27. He says there will be 6 men in the match, and three of the qualifying matches will take place next week.

Ad break plugs main event of Undertaker vs. CM Punk

Daniel Bryan & R-Truth def. Ted DiBiase & Zack Ryder
Bryan & R-Truth dominate this match, and win when Bryan locks Ryder in a LeBell Lock. Ryder taps instantly. After the match, Truth grabs a microphone and challenges Bryan to a match at Wrestlemania for the US Championship. He extends his hand and Bryan shakes it.

Up next, Cena vs. Morrison

John Cena def. John Morrison
Back and forth match which had the crowd cheering. Morrison gave it his all but just fell short when Cena caught him in midair and planted him with the FU. The pair shook hands after the match.

Main event time!

Undertaker def. CM Punk
Strong main event from Punk and Undertaker. Both men battled hard and CM Punk nearly pulled out the victory when Nexus interfered. Undertaker just about managed to pull out a victory as he Tombstoned Punk.

After the match, Nexus invaded the ring and began to attack Undertaker. Outnumbering him, they managed to beat him down before John Cena entered the arena and ran to the ring, he cleaned house along with Undertaker and the two were left alone in the ring. They met eyes and Cena nodded as he pointed to the Wrestlemania sign and shouted something at Undertaker. Undertaker turns and begins to walk away, but Cena grabs him. This fails to impress The Undertaker, and he stares down at Cena's arm holding him back, he flicks it off and before he can walk away, Cena pulls him back properly, yanks Undertaker onto his shoulders and plants him for a massive FU. The crowd go nuts as Cena has passed the point of no return. The show fades to black with Cena stood over Undertaker.

*-Confirmed for next week-*

- We learn #1 contender for WWE Championship
- MITB Qualifiers
- Orton finds out his opponent for Wrestlemania

Bankise's Raw Review:

Time for me to start reviewing shows. I have read a fair few shows and reviews now on other sites, time I start doing it myself.

This show is in heavily recapped form and suffered because of it. Leading into Wrestlemania I hope you put on some longer shows, allowing me and others to get into the fueds you have set up for Wrestlemania.

John Cena Vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania seems like a lock now after what happened on Raw. Undertaerk seems a little scared of John Cena not coming on when he called him out. Also after Cena's match, I thought John might have called out Undertaker, knowing his match was next. The reaction that Cena got after FUing Undertaker, it looks like Taker might be playing the role of the heel here. I hope you dont have Cena going over Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Wouldn't that be Evan Bourne's return match? You did not make a big deal out of it.

Sheamus Vs Punk looks like what you are going for. Interesting, Nexus looked weak tonight. Not attacking Sheamus when he declined them and then cleaned out by Undertaker and Cena. Also looks like Sheamus is going to turn face, which is not bad and gives him a chance for new fueds after this.

Thank god you are not doing Miz Vs Orton. But this isn't much else going on for either man. John Morrison and/or Triple H seem to be the only guys left at that level. I dont want to see Orton Vs Hunter again, but Miz Vs Morrison could be good if done right.

Natayla is back with the title around her waist. It will be interesting to see where you go with the Diva's Divison. Because this show did not do much to show us where it is heading.

Money In The Bank's are always good, should be interesting to see how walks out with the Case. Early pick is a guy from Smackdown. Because Raw doesn't have any big threats in the Mid Card.

Bryan Vs Truth should be a good fued. But it would have made more sense to book Truth scoring the win insteed of Bryan, helping R-Truth get over and seem more of a threat.

Final Thoughts: Show suffered in a massive way from the heavy recapped form. The Main Events seem to be building, the mid card and womens division seem to have no direction at the moment. Hopefully you fix this in the future. A good start to begin with.

Thanks for the review, Banks, the feedback is appreciated. (Y)

The Evan Bourne point is more of an oversight from me than anything else. I forgot all about his injury.

Regarding Miz/Orton, I won't give much away but I have a nice surprise lined up for this. Hopefully it won't disappoint. :)

The show this week was written more with the coming weeks in mind. Hopefully next Monday I can clear a lot more up and really get the feuds on track heading into Wrestlemania.

Thanks again for the feedback, I'll do my best to return the favour for you.

* - WWE Latest News - *

- There is an announcement expected regarding the 2011 draft this Monday night on Raw.

- Santino Marella vs. Zack Ryder & Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox are both to be featured on Superstars this week.

- Gimmick PPVs are expected to be cut back this year, in favour of the more "traditional" approach to PPV booking.

I'm a little pressed for time this week so I'm going to fire out a results post to cover the Smackdown I missed on Friday.

Edge vs. Rey Mysterio
No contest - Alberto Del Rio disrupts the match after around 15 mins of action and lays both men out with a chair.

United States Championship
Kofi Kingston vs. Kane
Kofi wins with a rollup, Kane destroys him after the match.

Big Show vs. Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler
Big Show faces both men in a handicap match. Wins by knocking out Jack Swagger

Christian vs. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes no shows the match, leaves Christian hanging

Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Masters
Del Rio subs Masters with an armbar shortly into the match

Sorry about how half assed this is, like I said, I've been busy this week.
