Cena is going to be booed in Chicago? No way!!!

Oh right, he always gets booed there. And then he is cheered in the next city and the next after it. Also, Punk could burn a kitten in the ring and wouldn't be booed in Chicago. Just because one arena acts one way, it doesn't mean it's a trend. If that was true, then every Canadian wrestler would be a face.

Punks contract doesn't REALLY end the night of MITB, he has something like two months left after that. I can see him winning the title and being told that as long as he's the champ he has to compete or some shit along those lines. He'll hold the title for two months or so, and just before his contract is actually up he'll drop the belt, thus not competing anymore.

Or WWE creative is complete shit and they'll have him lose at MITB and just not use him after the PPV....

Would there even be a champions clause for fake fighting?

I read that his contract ends on the 31st of July, which is exactly 2 weeks after Money in the Bank. If that's the case, they could give him the title then have him lose it the night after or a week after that on RAW, have him throw a hissy fit, and that's that.

I doubt they'll give him the title any longer than a few minutes, it just wouldn't be in the WWE's best interests.

It seems like there is no clear answer on when his contract actually ends/ended. What I have read is that he actually signed a small extension to make it to the PPV as before it finished in early July.

I still don't see him leaving the company.

It sure as hell won't be to go to TNA. ROH would be interesting considering the media outlets that are going to be picking up ROH. WWE needs him and needs to pay and push him.

He's only leaving because he needs a break due to being burnt out. He has been on the road for like 5 years with very minimal rest in between as he has hardly been injured, so he won't be showing up to TNA or ROH.

Punk doesn't seem like the guy to hold a grudge, and leaving the WWE to go back to TNA or ROH would be a silly move for him. He should just take some months off and come back when he feels refreshed.

Yeah Punk won't be going to any other wrestling company. He will disappear from wrestling and then if he wants to come back it will be in WWE. Kind of like Chris Jericho but with a lower profile outside of wrestling.

Don't know why people are already speculating on when Jericho is coming back, his last sabbatical was over 3 years. Barely into a year right now. He hints to keep his name out there. And since he is coming off that dann't he do better for himself by trying to strike while the iron is hot and venture into more lucrative jobs.

He doesn't have to go back to WWE. Thats an option Punk doesn't have.

If Punk is around for another few months, then fine give him the title, but if his contract runs out two weeks or less after MITB, then I don't see the point in a title change.

This is my idea of the CM Punk situation.

CM Punk wins the belt off John Cena at MITB, the Chicago Fans erupt in cheers (He's going to be face no matter what in Chicago).

The following day... CM Punk's music plays, the crowd is like WTF. CM doesn't come out, soon enough the Anonymous RAW GM reveals that CM Punk has been invited...

Out comes CM Punk with the title, dressed in street clothing. CM Punk then says he got rid of the Champion, John Cena. He also has the WWE Championship and there is no way of it being vacated because CM has clearly won it and CM Punk is leaving!

The GM chimes in and tells CM to vacate it because his contract has ran out. CM Punk says 'No, we don't even know who you are... besides firing me won't do anything'.

CM Punk then leaves... as soon as he reaches the top of the entrance ramp.... The RAW GM Theme actually plays, we find out who the GM is and the GM has the new WWE belt.

The only way I see the Belt going on Punk is if the MITB contract is cashed in on Raw the next night during his farewell speech.

That is a really good idea and I wish I had thought of it. Punk can win the title and then drop it to the MITB winner. I would even have the MITB winner cash it in on him that night on the PPV since Punk said his contract expires that night.

No I can't go along with that, first of all that has been done too many times, and second like I said if Punk is only contracted for a short time after the MITB, then I really don't see the point in putting the title on him. Just to be smart and swerve the fans, is no reason for a short title reign.
