Former WWE creative team member John Piermarini has started his own blog at http://wrestlingrecall.blogspot.com/ and here is an excerpt regarding the mindset of WWE and Vince McMahon:

"Vince’s philosophy on Daniel Bryan is he isn’t an ass kicker but he can beat you because he can capitalize on your mistakes. In this instance, it works. On the other hand Vince thinks John Morrison can’t kick anyone’s ass in a real fight therefore he can’t be a top babyface. Morrison has the chance to take the ball and run with it, but he is running uphill."
Interesting if that is true. Mostly on the Daniel Bryan part since if that is true I wonder if that means he'll one day push Bryan as a main eventer.

So Danielson's future is perhaps brighter then Morrison's.

That makes great sense on both parts. After all a good portion of Morrison's shit doesn't even connect sometime and I don't think he can be a slow methodical heel without flash like Jericho, Eddie, or Shawn.

Because Shawn was a successful heel, right? Yeah sure he was.

This would make more sense if Bryan had beat JoMo on Raw.

He's worked a slow methodical style as a heel before.

Morrison beating Bryan doesn't mean that Bryan isn't seen as a brighter prospect for the future. It just means Morrison is in a higher position on the card for now and that it may take time for Bryan to be built, like he should.

How did he not wrestle like a heel? He took the bulk of the match for his offense and just about always worked the neck to lead to the big babyface comeback with a few hope spots work in there. Unless, of course, you're saying using a springboard enzuiguri as a signature move isn't heel wrestling, which is total bullshit. He wouldn't be working as a heel if he did that move to get pop, but that's not what he did. That's AJ Styles' version of "heel" wrestling.
