Re: Air date for Tough Enough

Actually as odd as it sounds, it's probably not a bad idea to introduce them at Wrestlemania. It will give them a taste of what it is like to walk onto a stage in front of 50,000+ people not to mention the millions of viewers globally. Kind of like telling them that if this is what they want, they're going to have to work their asses off to get it.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

^Yeah but then the idiots that don't really want it will leave easier because they will realize that what they wanted (To appear at WM) will have already happened and they have nothing more to work for since they got it for free. It would come in real handy for the hopefuls as they are they are getting tossed around by the trainers, being yelled at, and whatnot to say I was already on a WM so why am I even working for this?

Vince McMahon has been discussed for a major role on the revival of Tough Enough on the USA Network. However, it's considered a long shot because the show will be filmed in Los Angeles and would take a major time commitment.
Really doubtful. They'd have to bring him out of his 'coma' on TV before this could happen and I reall doubt Vince would want to work with a bunch of nobodies.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

I get what you're saying, but then it's easier to weed out the dumbasses that want their 15 seconds of fame and be left with the ones that actually want a shot at a contract and having an opportunity to one day down the track be able to wrestle a match at Wrestlemania.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

Thats true but if they start with 12 or whatever and by episode 2 they have 6 it would be a terrible transition especially since they would have to go so many weeks without an elimination.

Producers for WWE Tough Enough have reportedly reached out to contracted Ring of Honor wrestlers about being a part of the show.

Looks like this won't be like the original TE with actual wrestlers involved in the show.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

WWE's Tough Enough started filming in Venice, CA yesterday. Shed Media, and not WWE's production team, are handling most of the production. Everyone was signed to a strict confidentiality agreement in order to prevent leaks coming from the show. They are shooting ten episodes of the show, which will begin airing on April 4th on the USA Network.

Austin posted on Twitter last night that he was headed home from the first day on taping.

Personally I'm glad they had to sign the secrecy contract so we don't get spoilers of what happens causing people that would have watched it not to watch it.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

Great pr move on their part
The USA Network released the following press release announcing that Miss USA, Rima Fakih, will be competing in this year's WWE Tough Enough competition. As always, it's good press for the WWE and apparently, Fakih has been a lifelong WWE fan.

IS MISS USA™ “TOUGH ENOUGH®?”

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – February 17, 2010 USA Network and WWE® announced today that Miss USA™, Rima Fakih will be one of the aspiring contestants on USA Network’s upcoming non-scripted series WWE TOUGH ENOUGH®. Fakih will be squaring off against a tough group of challengers vying for an once-in-a-lifetime shot to become a WWE Superstar or Diva. The series will premiere Monday, April 4 at 11/10c, the day after WrestleMania® XXVII and immediately following USA’s ratings juggernaut WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW®. It moves to its regularly scheduled slot in primetime, Mondays at 8/7c, starting on April 11.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to battle for a title in an entirely different competition,” said Fakih. “Miss USA is an incredible honor that’s provided invaluable experience which will undoubtedly help me as I push my performance and athletic skills to the limit. I look forward to learning if I have the mettle to make it in WWE.”

The casting announcement follows the recent appointment of WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin® as series host and WWE Legend Booker T™ as a trainer. WWE TOUGH ENOUGH contestants will be a diverse group of men and women who will live, train, eat and sleep under one roof in a house in Southern California. Each week the contestants will battle it out in a series of unique challenges designed to test for such characteristics as showmanship, creativity, athleticism and desire, just to name a few. Viewers will witness the trials and tribulations of what it takes to be one of the best in the world’s greatest sports entertainment organization. The grand prizewinner will be awarded a contract with WWE.
Shed Media US, noted for its strong characters and memorable casting in the non-scripted arena, will produce WWE TOUGH ENOUGH. The company’s previous reality credits include “The Real Housewives of New York City,” “Who Do You Think You Are,” “World’s Strictest Parents.” Producing for Shed Media US are Nick Emmerson, Alex Demyanenko and Eric Van Wagenen.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

We should know way more about the show now it's started being filmed.

Why not tell us who's involved for both the wrestlers and trainers in full?

Give us a good month of anticipation of knowing just who we will see.

DeMott will join Trish Stratus, Booker T and Steve Austin on the show. A current WWE Superstar or Diva will also appear each week to work with the talents.

It makes sense that they would bring him back since he was the drill sergeant of DSW. His former students are MVP, Miz, Love, Wilde and McCool

California independent wrestler "Big Nasty" Jason Watts is reportedly one of the contestants on WWE Tough Enough.

Don't believe I've ever seen this guy wrestle before.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

Posted by PWPIX on 03/03/2011

-- Former WWE star Bill DeMott is conducting the majority of the wrestling training to the Tough Enough contestants. As expected, he's been very hard on them. Some people within WWE are surprised that he was hired for the role because he has a reputation for being tough on wrestling trainees.

Steve Austin has been a regular on the Tough Enough set thus far. Booker T and Trish Stratus, however, have not. One source believes they've been on the set roughly once per week.

Not really surprising with Booker announcing and Trish having a show to host in Canada.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

Have you noticed something is missing from the studio... me!

Well, you may not have noticed but I have been in Los Angeles filming a new TV show! I have been asked to join host Stone Cold Steve Austin as the female trainer/mentor for 14 contestants all competing for the chance to become the next WWE Superstar or Diva. WWE is bringing back the show Tough Enough, which is set to debut Mondays at 8pm EST starting April 4. It has been quite the experience out here, the kids are giving their everything and boy are we dishing it out to them!

For any of you familiar with my former career - the WWE world, I am joined by Booker T and Bill DeMott and we are kicking these kids' butts into shape - I, of course have been introducing them to yoga! And I have a personal mission to try to get Stone Cold too to give yoga a try! I'll keep you updated on that."

Stratus added Wednesday on Twitter that she had the Tough Enough contestants do yoga. However, it was not her brand of relaxing "Stratusphere" yoga as she says they were left shaking and sweating.

Good to finally know there is 14 cast members.

Re: Air date for Tough Enough

During the WWE Tough Enough trailer that aired during RAW two Tough Enough contestants were revealed. We saw Christina Crawford (Caylee Turner) younger sister of WWE Diva Alicia Fox and also independent wrestler "Big Nasty" Jason Watts.
