Well recently we have been seeing quite a lot of Trent Barreta. After his partner Caylen Croft was released I did not really think he would get anywhere but I have been proven wrong. He has appeared on Smackdown for the past month or so, even picking up wins and has also been very active on Superstars. Now I know the kid has a long way to come but do you think the WWE could be possibly building him to be a future main event star? I mean the guy is only 23 and has had success already over someone who is pin pointed as a main eventer already. He has a good charisma and is quite over as a face as well. And looking at his in ring skills, wow I don't know but there's something that just impresses me about the guy. I think if WWE keep his momentum up, not necessarily become a world beater but be in there as a threat with guys such as Drew, Cody, Kofi ect he could cement his place as a dominant mid carder. And from there? Well depending on how WWE works with him he could win MITB down the road and become world champion. He certainly has room to do so and it would be cool to see WWE work with him because I do spot some talent in the kid.

I am really glad that they have actually used him since WWE split the Dudebusters up by releasing Croft. I expected him to go right back down to FCW and hang around there for another six months before being released. The best I had expected was for him to be teamed up with Curt Hawkins. WWE must have high hopes for him to keep him on television after they released his tag team partner and he has become a regular member of the Smackdown midcard now which is great.

I was actually really impressed by his series of matches with Curt Hawkins on Superstars. I thought that the standard of wrestling in those matches was really high and that Barreta, and Hawkins, both showed a lot of promise.

For now I just want to see him continue to pick up wins over the Smackdown midcarders. Another win over McIntyre would be good and then over some names like Chavo and Tyler Reks just to keep the winning record going. I don't think that he will make the MITB match at WM this year but maybe if Smackdown have their own MITB match at MITB PPV he can be part of that. Not sure about world champion but by the end of this year I think that he should be in the IC title scene.

No I don't mean winning it this year or anything among that stretch of imagination. I'm prediting around 2 years for a strong build up for the kid. I really hope something hapens for him because he is very talented.

Why are you calling him a kid? He is older than you. I can call him kid being older and all. Just don't make sense to call someone older than yoursellf kid.

Anyways, he is obviously Colin Delany right now. I don't think he will go further than that.

At least Trent Barreta looks like a wrestler, Colin Delaney just looked like some guy picked out of the crowd who hadn't eaten for a few weeks. I think that he will stick around in the midcard for some time especially since he has been booked strongly against Drew McIntyre. He may even get Kelly Kelly as his valet depending on how this storyline goes.

Trent Barretta looks like an indy wrestler. He is seriously skinny compared to Drew McIntyre, same could be said about Daniel Bryan, but I don't think about it and say I'm down with Daniel Bryan.

Trent Barretta is a cool name tho.

He is skinny but he is toned whereas Delaney was just skinny. He has a similar body shape to Shawn Michaels who was skinny but toned. He is 23 so he should still be able to bulk up in the next couple of years and add a bit more size to his frame. I wouldn't call Bryan skinny, McIntyre is definitely skinny as is CM Punk who just looks like a normal guy covered in tatts.

I've missed Smackdown this week, so I'm not up on the Kelly Kelly/Drew/Baretta thing. If I was Drew and Barretta I would look at DiBiase on Raw and start kicking and screaming that they don't want a valet/girlfriend. Although the chance of art imitating life would be pretty tempting.

I think that with the DiBiase situation it is more a reflection of his current character than the fact he has a valet. He is just so bland and boring at the moment Maryse is easily more entertaining than him and is outshining him. If Barreta was paired with Kelly it would most likely help raise his profile on Smackdown.

It would be very tempting to take the risk and hope that life would imitate art if you were paired with Kelly Kelly.

For some reason I have liked this guy since the Dudebusters debuted. I think he could be a solid midcard guy for a while but I don't see him going anywhere. The guy he reminds me of is Kenny Dykstra.

Ugh Kenny Dykstra, the biggest waste of talent by the WWE for some time. How that guy was released I do not know, he should have been WWE/World champion multiple times by now. He had so much talent and he was only twenty two when he was released. I hope that he is brought back to WWE soon because it is a waste that he isn't part of a major wrestling organisation.

Looking at this week's set of spoilers for Superstars and Smackdown it doesn't look like he will be getting a big push soon :(

Kenny Dykstra a multiple champion? seriously?

Other than being a good mechanic in the ring, he had nothing else to offer. His mic skills were sub par, nothing about him screamed star, and not to mention his lack of charisma, dude was just plain boring. Charlie Haas had more potential than that guy.

Exaggeration on my part but I still can't see why he was let go ahead of so many others. I thought that he had great potential and that he was really finding his feet after they split up the Spirit Squad. They didn't give him enough time or push him strongly enough on the back of him leading SS. They should have added him on to Rated RKO like they hinted at rather than dumping him into the RAW midcard.
