Ric Flair Incident on TNA's Tour of Ireland

The Ric Flair incident in Dublin, Ireland was said to have been driven by Flair demanding money "in advance" from a member of TNA management. When his request wasn't granted, Flair allegedly tried to play hardball, refusing to get on a bus that was taking the TNA troupe to the airport for their flight. That incident led to a decision being made to leave Flair behind, since he was refusing to get on the plane and this had not been the first instance of similar issues with Flair over the last year.

According to one person I spoke to after we initially wrote about the Flair situation, there were members of the roster in favor of leaving Flair behind due to his outburst and some were mocking him, using his "signature promo lines" after he was left behind.

There was a lot of discussion regarding how much Flair's legendary "partying" on the road during the tour may have factored into his decision to refuse to get on the bus as well.

To clarify something making the rounds, Flair was not sent home from the tour by TNA management. He was simply left behind after refusing to travel following his issue with the member of TNA management. All signs are Flair is still in Europe and he could easily catch up to the troupe in Scotland, if he chooses.

There was no official decision to send him home, just a decision to leave him behind when he had his "blow-up" as opposed to holding up an entire roster of talents waiting to travel internationally.

TNA declined to comment on the Flair situation when contacted by PWInsider.com earlier today.

Wow I didn't realise Flair was this much of a jerk. I can't believe that he is demanding money in advance rather than waiting like the rest of them and then worst of all he chucks a hissy fit when he doesn't get his way. He has been in the business for decades yet he acts this way. Plus it isn't like this is an indy company which may or may not be trustworthy, this is the second biggest wrestling company in the world and there is no way they won't pay everyone. Also the guy should have millions in the bank so he shouldn't be short on money anyway.

TNA should sack him after this but they probably won't.

Flair knows he can do what he want and get away with it. Sure, TNA left him behind, but Flair won't care. Not whilst he's getting paid by the company.

That'll be all Flair sees TNA as; an easy paycheque.

Exactly he would never pull this trick with WWE. He is treating TNA like an indy level company and it is very disrespectful of them.

It would be good if TNA put their foot down but whether TNA have the balls to sack him I doubt it.

Yeah, that what makes TNA such pushovers. They need to have a ruthless side which sets a precedent (you disrespect us, you're fired, etc). TNA probably value having Flair more than the respect they recieve back from him.

There's probably other guys on the roster who know they can act in the same way and get away with it.

Flair is in such a sweet position it actually makes me sick.

Sure he bumps and cuts promos but damn, that's the Nature Boy, that's all he's ever known, he can do it with his eyes closed so is it such a big deal? Not when he's taking PURE liberties with the company.

You can bet your ass he's on a big salary and you can bet your ass he's using TNA to just make some money, stay on TV, stay relevant and have a good time. It's entertaining at times but it's selfish desires and that's not what a growing company needs. I honestly think a company like TNA would benefit from making their stars employees as oppose to contractors (if its the same as in WWE?) because a family element with everyone pulling in one direction backstage would surely help the product.

What a sad old man this former legend has become, in many shoot interviews all you hear are people have worked with him heap priase on him for the way he conducts himself. I think those guys would have a different view of the nature boy now.
