Is anyone else on here a fan of this fantastic show?

This is one of my all time favourite shows. The concept is just genius to begin with, a serial killer who only kills bad people and works for the police department. The way it is written you want him to succeed and to continue to kill the bad guys. The acting is excellent and very well cast, Michael C. Hall deserves all the accolades he gets for his work because it is exceptional.

Currently I am up to date with the end of Season 3 because I don't have the station that it is shown on and I watch it through DVD's. Season 4 is released in a couple of months and I will buy it as soon as it comes out.

Season 5 starts on US television soon and here is the trailer. Beware *SPOILER ALERT* if you haven't seen Season 4 especially the end because it is huge.

Had been avoiding all Dexter threads until I finished season 5, which I finally did a few weeks back.

Love the show. Season 4 is definitely the best thus far, had the most shocking finale I've ever seen on TV. Can't wait for season 6 to start in September.

Anybody else know that Michael C.Hall (Dex) is married to the actress who plays Deb? That creeped me out.

I still haven't seen Season 5, I am waiting for it to be released on DVD in Australia. Was Julia Stiles any good on the show?

I was really glad to read that it was picked up for a sixth season, it is such a good show and it deserves to continue for longer.

I am pretty sure that Michael C Hall and Deb are now divorced. I did find it odd that they were married and were playing brother and sister, though it is definitely better than the other way around.

Yeah that is freaky didn't know that! This is just one show that has gone from strength to strength and now has to rate as one of the best shows of modern times, and may go down as one of the all times great.

It is great that Michael C. Hall got the chance in a lead role, because his performance and character was one of the highlights of Six Feet Under, and he is so scary here, getting the physical aspects of the character right, but also the more nervious suppressed elements too. Troy makes a good point, because you do believe in Dexter's other side with Rita and the Kids, even though he himself doubts it, and because of the code he follows, you actually route for him, he is like the perfect anti-hero.

But it just isn't Dexter, the supporting characters are great too, with some of the most intellgent female characters on TV, the performances from Jennifer Carpenter and Juile Beniz are fantastic. The shooting style is key also, with Miami becoming a character in itself.

We have only got up to Season four in England, but Five is not far off, and it is one of the things I am looking forward to the most ths year. The great thing is there are so many question, and I have no idea how it is all going to end, that is a sign of a great show.

I won't spoil anything, but all I'll say is that season 4 is absolutely fantastic. You'll probably appreciate this post more when you finish it. :)

Oh no sorry I have actually seen Season Four, and I agree with you it is fantastic, in fact I would say the best season yet. Just can't wait for Five which starts on June 18th on FX.

Dexter is really a good series, It always remember me the time, when we used to see the young boy series Dexter, with my sis, WOw, that was a great time, we have enjoyed together, and Now Dexter is too good to see, in his young age, :)

Dexter Season 6

Looks like Dexter is going to be killing regularly again this season. I have a feeling that this season they will kill off one of the main characters. I haven't seen Season 5 yet as I don't have the channel that it airs on here but the DVD is released on August 18th and I will buy it then and catch up on it.

Are there any other Dexter fans on the forum? What did you think of season five? Have you heard any news about potential guest stars for Season 6?

MY FAVORITE SHOW! I absolutely loved season 5 tbh minus one problem. I won't go into it since you haven't seen it yet, but it's a personal opinion I have based on how they did something. I have high hopes for season 6, but I haven't heard about any guest stars. I try to avoid Dexter news actually because I want to be surprised when I watch it.

I am terrible I have read what happens in Season 5. It is too long to wait and I always spoil it for myself.

Are you referring to the final episode when Deb sees two people (Dexter and Julia Stiles) behind a plastic screen who have killed the guy but she doesn't go see who they are. Seems a bit implausible and eventually Deb has to figure out what Dexter does as a hobby.

This is my favourite show as well and the only thing I don't like is that I have to wait so long before I can see the show.

-_- Since you spoiled it for yourself anyway!

I hated how Julia Stiles character left. It made the entire season feel like all she did was use Dexter. The moment her problem is taken care of and Dexter has killed everyone off for her, suddenly she feels like she has to leave?! I understand that she was just a special guest star for the season so she couldn't stay as his love interest, but holy shit! It kind of just left a bad taste in my mouth over the entire build of their characters throughout the season.

They could have written her out of the show better. They should have done what they do with most guest stars and killed her at the end of the season. Or if they didn't want to end on another sad note she could have had to leave for fear that she would be caught having killed that guy.

Well I am staying away from Troy's season six thread:gossip: as season five only just started in the UK on friday.

SPOILOR ALLERT!!!!

It was a brilliant first episode following on from Rita's death at the end of four, I liked the flashback to their first date, and background to their relationship, as well as a fitting tribute to a great character. Also the strength of the Debroah character, as we see yet another layer once again. Interesting to see if Dexter's needing look after the children will put his other life on hold.

It wasn't Rita who died in that tub.

Na j/k, but how mad would you have been if I just shot out a spoiler like that?!
Season 5 was easily just as awesome, if not better, than all the rest. A bunch of twists and turns like you expect from Dexter, and a really great storyline. Enjoy the show!

But I put spolier alert before I mentioned that so surely anyone not wanting knowing that would have stopped reading then.
