Gleison Tibau put on a very impressive performance in securing a second-round submission victory over Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 130.

What was the high spot of this fight?

The last minute before the stoppage, where Tibau dropped Oliveira with a short-but-brutal left, then dropped bombs on him from back mount for a while to soften him up enough to latch on the rear naked choke.

Where do these guys go from here?

Tibau is in a bit of a strange position. Despite going 6-2 in his last 8 fights, he's not really close to contending in a deep lightweight division. The pattern is set - he wins two in a row over lesser competition, then loses to a contender. His win over Kurt Pellegrino before this bout might change that up a bit and we'll probably see Tibau get a fairly tough fight next time out, especially since he took this fight on short notice and the UFC always respects that. A bout against Evan Dunham or the winner of the upcoming Nik Lentz/Charles Oliveira fight might be interesting.

As for Oliveira, he was brought back on short notice so there's always the chance he'll be given another fight. However, he is now 1-3 in the UFC and he's already been released once. If he does stay, a bout with Bart Palaszewski might make some sense.

Watch it now, later, or never?

Later. Tibau finishing a tough Oliveira was quite impressive, but the first round was somewhat dull and there are other fights on this card that are more worthy of your time.
